Sounds like quite the ordeal but done with care. Happy to hear all went well.
Also good to see they marked which knee to work on..

Hope your recovery goes swift and pain remains manageable. All the best.

Hope you have a speedy recovery

What a way to finally learn that quoting a post reveals the spoiler. Ouch indeed!!

Hope you're up and running about soon.

Ordered a couple of nice rugs online on 27th November for my sister. I was quite proud of myself organising a Christmas present so early. Delivery was offered as usually 3-4 days, but by 6/12 absolute latest.

I started to worry quite early on as DHL's tracking "service" started issuing delay warnings with delivery now being next working day. Those next working day deliveries did not materialise. Still, plenty of time so no panic yet. I messaged the retailer on their live chat yesterday as still no carpets only to be informed DHL don't deliver Saturday or Sundays. What?

Today the DHL tracker stated delivery Monday 8th. Taking this with a pinch of salt I called the retailer. The call centre guy was polite and informed me he was instigating an investigation and I would have a response in 48 hours. Then the call was cut off.

I waited a couple of minutes foolishly thinking he might call me back but nothing so I phoned again. A young lady this time, through all the details, dates, order and tracking numbers to be informed I would have a response in 72 hours. When I asked why I wasn't called back when cut off she politely informed "we don't do that". Probably because it's expensive from India. That's a guess. I don't know if that's even a thing any more.

My own fault. The store is 4 miles away but I'm trying to avoid busy places until my 'flu jab antibodies have built up a bit, but I can see a necessary fight for refund on the horizon as I have no faith in DHL having had problems in the past. No wonder they never answer calls.

Well I've been waiting all day for a delivery that never a ride. Cost me a ride out on the bike. Scheduled delivery time kept getting pushed further and further back. I was following the live tracking it got to two deliveries before me, then it disappeared to a local industrial estate followed by more local industrial estates then back up the M1 to Rotherham.

Still showing as:
QuoteWe're sorry your delivery has been delayed, we're still working to get this to you today.
Are you bollocks.  >:(

It pisses me off mightily that you get given a delivery slot that they can't even attempt to fulfil. Mrs S says I should chill, but bollocks to that. Snotty emails which will get ignored and bad reviews on review sites for APC are what I've been doing. Yet last week she paid for next day delivery on a parcel that took three days and she won't even ask for a refund of postage!

I've just looked at DHL e-commerce on Trustpilot. I wish I hadn't. I don't think I've ever seen such a bad overall opinion of a company. One long red line of 1 stars on the graph with folk stating they wished they could award zero. What has happened to this country and the controls that used to exist?

Nick

Great expectations.. in general I have been amazed by the delivery of stuff, I've had the odd parcel delivered late or damaged but have never been out of pocket because of it, I would imagine I have received a 99% delivery on time rate. Next day delivery never existed for parcels until recently and now its almost the norm. A service transformation, I also find the delivery people to be polite but obviously in a hurry. Some of the new packaging is fantastically designed, being sustainable, protective and often cleverly returnable with additional adhesive strips.

DPD are amazing. I don't know how they do it. On the odd occasion when there's a slight delay their communication is also excellent.

An epidemic of Cantbearseditis.

But if you look at DPD on Trustpilot the reviews are all shite.

I think the only time people review delivery companies is when things go wrong. If things arrive on the time and day specified then things are fine, no need to comment. It's just that when things do go wrong it tends to lead to a load of balls-aching chasing and being passed from pillar to post by some Call Centre worker with Cantbearseditis.

EVRI are Fucking Shite though...

Matt2112

Evri once left a package of mine in the food recycling bin (unless it was some other knobstick who did it for a laugh, though I doubt it).

I have had issues with all delivery services at one point or another. Usually it is Postnl (Dutch mail), DHL or DPD here. Oddly enough, things tracked from abroad usually arrive on time and correct. It is the local stuff they screw up somehow.

Worst experience is a DHL guy who clearly did not like his job. I asked him when he came to the door where my second package was, it was scheduled for delivery the same day, scanned at the same time etc. He refused to walk the 20 metres back to his van. He got a bit heated, and left upset.

A little later a neighbour from down the street came calling with a package (an LP of course) that had my name on it. She had found it outside her house, in the middle of the street.

I never saw the DHL guy again after I made a formal complaint.

The Picnic Wasp

After my numerous attempts at complaint through live chat and hopeless call centre individuals I was promised delivery between 1.30-3.30pm. DHL turned up at 5.30pm with ONE parcel. The driver seemed a decent enough guy and apologised on behalf of his hapless company agreeing that complaint levels are high and DHL do not communicate with customers.

He did say he would text me personally tomorrow about the whereabouts of the missing parcel but probably just skipped down the path muttering "one born every minute".

We'll see I suppose.
