Blistered Heels after walking round London. Thought I was going to have to cut my left sock off so much seepage had dried into it sticking it my heel.

Walked miles round various UK towns and cities in the same shoes with no bother. Ho-hum.

Stupid people who do stupid things.
Stupid people who have done stupid things making it public.
The BBC then reporting on stupid people doing stupid things as news.

A wasp entered our bedroom at about 0530. Couldn't be bothered to get up and confront it so I let it buzz around and annoy me for half an hour, after which it left.

I wonder if it's worth investing in a wasp trap of some sort, for those rare occasions when the bedroom window is open all night.

The unwashed empty jam jar with some water in the bottom and a hole punched in the lid is quite effective.

My friend is a wasp exterminator amongst his other jobs. I asked him once how he avoided being stung. He looked surprised and said he was stung nearly every day. Idiot!

Sounds quite self destructive coming from you.

The jam jar would need to be XXL. 😁

There was a flat roof outside my bedroom window at my flat in London. It had a water tank enclosure on it and one year, 1999 I think, there was a wasp's nest in it.

That summer, I'd occasionally find wasp body parts coming through the hot tap while filling the bathtub. Sometimes, a bedraggled, soggy, live wasp would join me in the bath.

The most annoying thing though was having to keep the bedroom window closed because the flat was a heat trap.

I didn't fancy tackling them so I just left them to it. There were still a couple of them buzzing around occasionally in October, which funnily enough I found a bit sad and poignant.

They never return to the same nest the following year fortunately.
