This hasn't made me "grumpy" exactly but it's very odd to think that the 7/7 terrorist atrocity occurred 20 years ago. I remember that day very well, I was living in Derby, still single at that time. I was ill, lying in bed all day with a virus, probably flu.

I was listening to 5 Live. Matthew Bannister was presenting when the news started to come in. It was only reported as an "incident" at first, people speculating there'd been some sort of power surge in the tube system.. and as I lay there listening, it all gradually unfolded.

Twenty years .. feels like seven or eight years ago.

The thirteenth step, as in: I missed in walking down the stairs. My entire forefoot landed on my curved toes, it was expecting to be on the ground already.

I have a 9.40 appointment for a X Ray, biding my time until then, literally.

Ouch, Nop! Hope it's some kind of quick fix sprain. Foot pain is a nightmare. I broke my big toe playing football years ago. It wasn't an issue at the time really, but it's added significantly to my getting older wear and tear discomfort.

Oh no Nop. I've done the same a few times thinking I'm at the bottom, then another step. I suppose it's lucky that our living room door is straight ahead and normally pulled to, so I ended up hitting that first. No major damage done thankfully.

Hopefully for you it's not too bad and you mend quickly.

Thanks guys, no fracture fortunately but it's turning all shades of blue. Really swollen as well and I cannot put pressure on it because that is too painful.

I have a pair of crutches they lend me, so I stumble around the house a bit. But mostly I need to sit with my foot up high trying to get rid of the swelling.
