I've always found in life that things tend to work out - call it fate if you want and I'm sure one day you'll wake up and it will all be well. Working in the RAF I often came across complete knobs, but I learnt early on that one day either they'd be posted - or I would.

I understand what you're going through and it would be drive me mad too, but please try not to let it get to you too much as then they've won. Be positive and know that you are a way better person than they are.

Thank you. Much appreciated. I'm aware need more distractions in general. Getting better at guitar would be a start.

Great advice, I really do get your frustration but for your own sake try not to stew in it. The saying that holding onto resentment is like swallowing a poison and hoping that the other party gets sick.is often used but only because it's so true

And you have every right to be resentful it's just not a helpful emotion

That's a great saying. Sums it up really. I must remember it when my thought processes go awry. Thank you.

Bit of a night.. mum took a tumble last night. Short version: ambulance, hospital, overnight observation. I got to bed at 3.30.
Looks like she is sort of OK, but she's 80. IWht any luck I can pick her up this afternoon again. Let's see.

Hope all turns out alright Thenop.

Went though all this with Mrs S's wife and auntie a few years ago. She still jumps whenever the phone rings.

Yes, I hope she makes a quick recovery and you get her back today, Nop. It's such a worry when our folks get older. When we're young falling seems to be an everyday occurrence, almost instantly forgettable, but increasingly hazardous as we age.

thanks guys, went rather quick. I received a call to come pick her up, so I did. She's OK now, bit startled and very tired.
Seems her blood pressure has been fluctuating a bit, so falling or - sort of - fainting certainly fits with that. She's at home now, resting.

Slim

Best wishes, hope she recovers soon.
