This could just as easily be in a different thread as it's so stupid, but out of respect for my sister I'll stick to grumpy.

She bought a BMW plug-in hybrid very recently. Very soon afterwards the charging flap would only open intermittently so the car needed to go to the dealership. Unfortunately it's just out of warranty so not unexpectedly it was an expensive repair. The car was booked in for two days but mid afternoon on day two she received a call saying the new flap needed a safety notice label and as they were awaiting delivery of these the car would be kept for another night.

Eventually she persuaded them to let her have the car on the premise that she would return the next day to have the label "fitted" as they refused to post it to her. "BMW have to fit the notice".

She duly returned, paid the £11.33 plus vat and went home. On arrival she opened the charging door to find a sticky label the size of a small postage stamp. Unbelievable!

Ah well, at least it's not December.

Ordered parrot toys online from a Northampton company on 8th September. Delivery quoted as 2-4 days. Phoned last week when goods didn't arrive. Perfectly pleasant conversation with the owner and explanation seemed plausible enough. Since then 12 calls and 2 webmails ignored. Obviously took a note of my number to blank. They've probably order them from elsewhere and this is just a sales tactic, but it's infuriating when others have it in stock.

Cancel and order elsewhere. Don't let it get to you, it's their loss.

Yes, I've asked them to cancel via webmail but they've ignored me. My only recourse is credit card chargeback, but single examples of that don't give them the black mark they deserve.

Which is why I use Paypal even though they are thieving bastards, they do have a great return policy. I consider it a built in warranty of some sorts.

The amount of BBC journalists saying "sat" when they should be saying "sitting" is starting to do my nut in.

Seems like every fucking programme about the UK these days is either Yorkshire this or Cornwall that. You'd think England only has 2 counties ffs.

Yorkshire is actually more than one county, is almost 10 times more populous than Cornwall and has a larger population than Scotland.

We can't help it if programme makers find us irresistible. ;)
