All done with The Handmaid's Tale. I'm glad it's finished tbh and the ending was a bit feeble, but overall an excellent watch.

Anyway there is more of Gilead to come: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt10970762/

Watched The Platform 2 last night as well. I've been meaning to watch this for a while and was expecting something at least as good as the first one. Sadly it doesn't compare. It starts well, but gets very odd at the end with no explanation of anything really. I think they held back to get another movie out of this. Watch through the end credits too if you decide to give this a go. 6/10

Don't Move - This has been on my radar for a while, but only just got round to watching. Not much to it really: a young woman gets assaulted and taken out in the wilds by a nasty man (poor old Finn Whitrock, who always seems to play baddies). He injects her with a strong relaxant which slowly starts to paralyse her until, guess what, she can't move. It's quite well done and short enough to have an impact; and there are  some very tense moments as you can imagine. I've never seen the young actress before but she does a decent job. Finn Whitrock plays the menacing abuser brilliantly - as he always does. Not a bad flick - 7.5/10

We have gone back in time a bit, and started catching up with Shetland which neither have watched. Very much up our street as it turns out. Delighted to find one of the stars is Mark Bonnar.

Currently on series 2.  As there are currently 9 series available on iPlayer, we'll be here for some time.

The Picnic Wasp

For some reason I never got around to watching Scarface until now. Hugely disappointed. What a waste of time that was.

Say hello to my little friend!

Love it. It's a time period movie for sure. The scene with Pacino behind a mountain of coke is legendary.

I was disappointed because in general I love American gangster movies. I remember people raving about it when it first came out and one individual in particular regaling us with the coke scene you mentioned. I kept waiting for that scene and being somewhat underwhelmed. Probably because I'd heard of it and imagined it differently over the years. I just thought it all seemed a bit B movie standard and quite disjointed and contrived. Other than that it was ok. 😀

We've been spoiled with subsequent gangster  flicks. Nothing will even top The Godfather for me but Goodfellas and Casino were just 2 of the greatest ones ever. Big fan of the genre myself. Organized crime is a subject that speaks to the imagination.

In anticipation of 28 Years Later we watched 28 Days Later (2002) again last night. It looks and feels a bit dated now and is rough around the edges but it's still a cracking horror movie. It's certainly better than 28 Weeks Later, which we'll be watching soon. The music is great too.

Godspeed You! Black Emperor is featured in this, no?
