Ooh - can't believe something from Glastonbury has caught my interest - but Gary Numan put in his first ever appearance there yesterday. 59 minutes on iPlayer. I'll have a glance at that. Will be interested to see what the set list is - will it be all 'hits' or will he mix in some of his modern industrial bleakness?

Episode 1 of Shifty - the political conclusions wouldn't be to everyone's taste (even I found some of them questionable) but someone has been putting in a great shift (no pun intended) in the BBC archives. Fascinating stuff and I recommend it to everyone here who vaguely remembers what the late 70s were like.

Just different class - supernatural levels of musical tightness and every song a classic banger.

Live And Let Die on ITV1

Roger Moore's time as Bond was my introduction to the character as a nipper, so I have an immense soft spot for this era.  So, once I start watching one of these I have to watch it all, even if it gets way past bedtime.

This especially applies to the first three Bond films of Moore's stint, which baby are the best.

Live And Let Die for many reasons (including the title song) still holds a special place in Bond history for me, as well as On Her Majesty's Secret Service.

I rarely rewatch a movie/TV Show - only if it is extremely good. As Peacemaker season 2 starts next month, my wife and I decided to watch the first series again. It's as brilliant as I remember. There was one scene in episode 3 last night that I couldn't stop laughing at, even now I have a chuckle at the recollection. The balance of comedy/action is spot on and this is the perfect vehicle for John Cena, who just oozes charisma. The music is great too - mostly 80s/90s hair metal and the opening credits are a hilarious dance to a Wigwam song. TV doesn't get much better than this for a funny, well written and action-packed show.

Bring Her Back - I've been looking forward to this horror flick and it gets decent reviews. It has all the right ingredients: depressing, dark, horrific, good actors, great effects and what should be a great story. Basically a 17yo lad and his younger, blind step-sister are taken in by a foster mother after their father dies suddenly. The slightly eccentric carer (played brilliantly by Sally Hawkins) has an agenda though and who is that weird child she keeps locked away? I can't say much more without giving too the plot away but ultimately this movie falls a bit flat. The horror is top notch and there some body-horror elements but nothing is really explained. We get to know what the step-mother is trying to achieve but no real explanation as to how. And this failing leaves the viewer confused and unsatisfied at the conclusion. 6/10

Just finished season 1 of Murderbot and loved it. We watched over 2 nights as each episode (10 total) is short (20-30 mins). There are a few books in the series so hopefully a lo more to come. 9/10

Ballard on Prime. We watched the first 2 episodes last Saturday night. We hadn't realised that this was a spin-off from Bosch (well, Bosch Legacy actually) - and neither of us have seen any Bosch so we may need to go back and watch that at some point  .

Anyhoo - we were attracted to this having seen Maggie Q in the trailer - or Hannah Wells as we think of her (her character from Designated Survivor).

Will carry on with this - oh yes and nice to see John Carroll Lynch on screen again. We haven't seen him since the first couple of series of Big Sky.

Much liked Bosch (and Legacy), no Maggie Q in that one though (apart from her introduction in the last episode or so of Legacy), just a warning. But lots of LA scenery, decent acting a great storylines. 7 seasons of Bosch and 3 Legacy, so there's plenty to explore.
Of course this is all tied together by the books on which this entire unoverse is based on: Michael Connelly.
