Dan Roan's report about this tonight annoyed me. It should be in the grumpy thread. He stated, "It's said, football without fans is nothing". Why not just state that it's a Jock Stein quote. The inscription is on his statue outside Celtic Park. Mind you, if you don't get a knighthood for being the first British manager for bringing home the European Cup then being ignored goes with the turf.

Also, this is the men's World Cup but the BBC go straight to a woman for comment on ticket prices. I wonder what the percentage male/female crowd breakdown is for a typical men's game. I wish the BBC could go a couple of days without annoying me about something. Their investigative report on Matthew Perry's drug use this week was dreadful Channel 5 standards of presentation. Sorry, way off topic.

Amorim sacked. That unravelled more quickly than I expected - except in the bigger picture, where it unravelled more slowly than I expected.

Didn't think a draw with Leeds would be the trigger.

It wasn't, I think him speaking out against the management was.

After a disappointing display laat Sunday in the league, tonight we play Austrians' Sturm Graz.

Come on Feyenoord!

Thenop

Feyenoord tonight, away against Betis Sevilla. We have so many injuries that we have a midfielder as central defender, a striker as a midfielder and 3 youth league players.

C'mon Feyenoord?

Slim

Spurs come from 2-0 down to level with Man City .. oh dear, City need to win this one really or the title starts to look out of reach. But the game's not over yet.

Slim

City drawing with Liverpool a week later. If it stays like this, Arsenal's late-season collapse may not be sufficient to close the gap.

Thenop

Believe it or not, Feyenoord managed to sign Raheem Sterling.

Was a great player in his youth - fallen off a very sharp cliff since.  31 now but could be a great signing if he manages to find his form and hasn't lost too much of his pace

Lots of naive defending over here, that ll be a big help.

The new Regi Blinker. Regi would occasionally be on fire when he played with Celtic, but mostly just quite ordinary.

We had Blinker and Taument as wingers in those days, what a fantastic time.

Emphatic win for Arsenal today in the North London derby, but - the title is still in City's hands. They win their remaining games, they're champions.

dom

You can say the same for Arsenal!

The game at the Etihad is really beginning to feel like it maybe a title decider

Slim

Just put on the highlights of Spurs / Atletico on YouTube .. what am I watching?  ???
