Crikey! A 12 lap race at Dendemonster! What a difference no mud makes. Won't quite be the same as MvdP v WvA but Thibau Nys v Tibor del Grosso could give us a few years of fun.

Unfortunately WvA had a puncture so no real battle.

On a side note: both MvdP and WvA came to the race by bicycle. From home. Granted, they don't live far, but normal people would want to save some energy.

A shame for Wout, but MvdP just looks so in control, always seems like he's in cruise mode even when going Hell Bent for Leather.

Nice to see Zoe Backstedt coming in 4th today after her injury layoff.

MvdP crashed early on as well. So no, it would not have made a difference I expect.

Apart from Wout was really struggling, I think it's the knee he damaged a couple of years back in the Vuelta.

Filipe Orts came off a couple of times with no major damage.

Apart from MvdP's complete and utter dominance it was a good day's racing.

Enjoyed the women's race when Puck, Lucinda and Ceylin all crashed going down into the sandpit.

Woah! That is a surprise, I thought Visma had him down to be supporting Vingegaard in the Giro.

As you were then for the Belgian and Dutch Men's elite Cyclocross champions. Belgian women's stayed the same and Ceylin Alvarado relieved Puck of her national champion's jersey.

Couldn't watch the UK championships as UK Cycling had stuck their Youtube channel behind a paywall. Not to worry, I found a dodgy stream of the Belgian and Dutch men's races, had one on the laptop and one on the TV. Just wish I could speak Dutch/Flemish, can hear the riders names and "Achtervolgers" plus positions, the Belgian commentator also said "Ooh la-la " a lot.
