Lorenzo Mark Finn is the Men's U23 World Champion, exactly a year after he became Junior World Champion.

Pre-race favourites Jarno Widar and Jakob Omrzel were nowhere.

Surprised to hear the Belgium, The Netherlands, Spain, Denmark - and Great Britain have never had a U23 World Champion.

Just caught up with the Junior Men's Road Race. Best race of the championships so far and not just because a Brit - Harry Hudson - won, with two more plucky Brits in fourth and fifth. JUst good racing with plenty of breaks then a solo attack with 35km to go.

Yet in the recent Vuelta a Cantabria - GP. Gobierno de Cantabria, he came 32 on GC when a kid from up the road from me came third!

That was a surprise winner! Magdalena Vallieres only ever won the Trofeo Palma Feminina before. Niamh Fisher-Black with Silver means a good day for the Commonwealth.

Nearly as good as the Men's Junior race in the end. Let's hope tomorrow is better.

Sometimes you just have to appreciate greatness.

Probably would have been no different if Mads Pedersen, Vingegaard, MvdP and WvA had been there, but who knows. Maybe if Remco hadn't had bike trouble, but then Pogi spent time shepherding Isaac del Toro round for a bit.

Coo, er gosh, UAE got another win today. Isaac del Toro pipping Tom Pidcock in the Giro dell'Emilia.
Lovely looking race in the sunshine.

Pidcock was second last year, but more distant being as Pogi won it.
