Just run out of logs, so for the first time I'm trying a packet of those pressed wood chip heat logs from the supermarket.

Thankfully we've just had a delivery of logs today to save us that outcome. We once bought some made from compressed Grape pips, they were awful.

The downside of our log delivery was it involved the sister-in-law coming over. Doesn't do my mental health any good does that :(

I've started buying a mix of hardwood logs and compressed briquettes from my firewood supplier. The dense type are really good. Mine come in 10kg packs of 6 logettes. They burn really hot and last longer than logs (well birch anyway). My orders are now more weighted to compressed rather than real logs. Much more convenient to store and handle. They seem to work best for me when I get the temperature up with kindling then smaller logs, then compressed for the rest of the night. I wasn't keen on the supermarket brands that I tried though. A bit low density and didn't last too long but I suppose it all depends on the manufacturer.

We've had a pellet stove installed where the fireplace used to be.  Pellets are very cheap and create very little ash so the stove is very easy to clean.   Only downside is that it needs electricity so if we had lost power on Friday it wouldn't have worked!

Happy Independence Day to my British friends.

Just mixed a nice GnT to kick off wet Feb. My Bose earbuds broke this morning so replaced them this afternoon with an upgraded model, now air guitaring around the kitchen with some John Sykes catalog while cooking tea.

Just watching Masked Singer, no not out of choice, and thats not making my day, but the bear masked character was giving clues with "Limelight" playing in the background. He said All The World's A Stage too
