Finished The Boroughs last night - like a cross between Stranger Things and Cocoon. It was just OK. Not brilliant but not dire either - 6/10

Just started The Testaments - a spin off from The Handmaid's Tale that follows June's daughter through the trials of Gilead.

The Black Phone

Widely critically-appraised chiller that didn't quite live up to the hype for me.

True, there's a fair bit to admire: the look and production design of the late-70s set story is expertly done, the concept and premise is intriguing  and the central performances are very good, particularly from the young teen actors.

However, the suspense isn't all that suspenseful, the creepiness isn't all that creepy and the scariness isn't all that scary - the film for me was less than the sum of its parts in the end.

Good Luck, Have Fun, Don't Die - with Sam Rockwell as his normal, superb best. It started out brilliantly, but petered out as it went along. Still a great watch though 7.5/10

The first couple of episodes were the good ones believe me. After that it gets painful to watch - any comedy has gone and then they show an episode of a past Thanksgiving with Steve Carrell back in. Blimey it's poor now; I've only got the last 2 winter episodes to go thankfully.
