Much as I'd hate to see Mountbatten-Windsor to succeed to the throne, removing him from the line of succession is pointless and stupid.

He's not actually in line to the throne. Mathematically, in probability terms, his chances of succeeding to the throne are almost exactly the same as mine. The difference in probability is less than the rounding error on a high-precision scientific calculator.

And even if he did, he'd be forced to abdicate.

It's just a waste of parliamentary time.

A long time ago, yes! Out of curiosity I looked up when I probably saw it. Probably on Jun 23rd, 1977.

How odd to think that it had been made only 28 years previously.
