We play AC Milan. most likely we'll lose our topscorer, Santiago Gimenez, to them this weekend and then need to play him in 2 weeks.

What a world.

Most onaticeable other game:
Man City - Real madrid, elminating one of them, not oppose the system this way.

Wouldn't he be cup-tied, Nop? Or does that change as it's the next phase? Celtic play Bayern having just sold top striker Kyogo, Arsenal hanging onto Tierney until summer, Maeda suspended and carrying injuries across the back line. The Dortmund hammering might look quite mild by comparison.

Wouldn't he be cup-tied, Nop? Or does that change as it's the next phase? Celtic play Bayern having just sold top striker Kyogo, Arsenal hanging onto Tierney until summer, Maeda suspended and carrying injuries across the back line. The Dortmund hammering might look quite mild by comparison.

Nope, after the transfer window closes, clubs can enter up to 3 new players to the selection for the CL.

Good night for Barnet too who beat one of their rivals for the Conference title, York City 3 - 1.

Barnet top by 7 points but York have 2 games in hand.  Forest Green in the mix too so will be an interesting end to the season.  Come On You Bees!

Feyenoord is about to sign the new manager:
Robin van Persie.

Most, if not all of you, know him of course. And while I think he probably will make a great manager at some point, he is still very young and inexperienced.
It has a lot to do with the inner workings of the club. They needed a candidate that everyone could get behind.

Anyway, curious to see what he can do for us!

It's interesting to think about how well people who played for Sir Alex Ferguson, obviously a fantastically successful manager, have performed themselves in that role.

Wayne Rooney - not very well unfortunately. Ruud van Nistelrooy has lost most of his games at Leicester. Solskjaer had a degree of success in Norway. Bryan Robson held down the head coach job at Boro for many years and managed in the PL for a while. Michael Carrick and Steve Bruce have done alright. Gary Neville was a disaster when he tried his hand.

RVP's current dayjob is manager at Heerenveen, another Eredivisie (Dutch name for Premier League) club. His biggest issue? His vision, not his lack thereof, but the selection he has simply does not possess the quality he needs to pull it off. Which is why Feyenoord (for whuch he was manager of under 21 for a year, or maybe 2 already and he also coach the strikers for the 1st team), may be a good fit. It is a bigger club, with a bigger budget and - seeing where we are in Europe at the moment - quite some quality players.

Van Nistelrooij did not do bad in the Netherlands either, but Dutch national league os no Premiet League of course.
