The Fantastic Four: First Steps - This is marginally better than the recent dross from Marvel, but it's still largely forgettable. These sort of movies have all been done to death now and without any comedy they become a chore to watch. This one is lifted by the alternative world setting and seeing The Silver Surfer (a woman!) and Galactus are a bonus. Pedro Pascal is miscast but Vanessa Kirby and Joseph Quinn are excellent. Unless it comes on to terrestrial TV one Xmas I'll probably never watch it again. 6.5/10

Had a binge watch of YouTube videos of Anika Nilles - looks a pretty good fit. :)

The 3rd, and hopefully final, season of the excellent Alice in Borderland. The first 2 series were based on a comic book and this 3rd season has really been added as a bit of a cash in as it could easily, and probably should have, ended at series 2. This is only 6 episodes though so not much time for a satisfactory ending. Our 2 main characters are back into the strange game world, and the first episode gives a hurried explanation of what this 'borderland' actually is. Reviews for this 3rd season have been very poor and I'm only really watching out of loyalty and how good the first 2 seasons were (in fact I'd say this was better than Squid Game). Time is most definitely up now.

Planning on checking out the 1st episode of The Last Frontier tonight (the 1st episode is available for free on Apple TV+) tonight. Looks very promising and right up our street.

Just finished Blue Lights series 3. Outstanding TV.

I started watching this last series of Blue Lights because the other half highly recommended it. I hadn't seen it before. I got about ten minutes in before I noticed that all of the authority figures, in the police and criminal fraternity alike, were women. I gave up. The sheer BBC-ness of it put me off.

We've finished season 3 of Alice in Borderland. Overall this is the weakest of the 3 seasons but it's not as bad as I was expecting; the pacing was really off and some of the 'games' were confusing and dragged out way too long. The effects were excellent though and the last episode was very good and a decent ending. But, and a big but, there is an final few scenes right at the end that almost copied the ending of Squid Game exactly so it may take the same path - who knows? For the whole thing 8.5/10 this season a 7/10. If you like Squid Game this is definitely worth a watch, of course not the dubbed version - instead go for the subtitled version, as is the case for all foreign viewing really.

Haven't seen series 3 but that wasn't the case with the first 2 seasons.
