Finished season 2 of Squid Game last week.  Very handy to have watched a 30 min recap of S1 on YouTube. Season 2 topped it, I think.  Excellent stuff.

Just finished it just now too - what a strange flashback at the end.

Indeed I assume S3 is going to be about life before the silos??

I hope so; lots of questions still about the silos themselves too.

Quote from: R6GYY on December 13, 2024, 11:06:45 AMJust noticed that Red One is now available on Amazon Prime. That's our first Christmas viewing line up then  :) .
Looks fun.
I'm tempted to watch this too. Let us know what you think Reg - thanks.
Won't be until sometime over the holiday period. Maybe Christmas night itself. Have you seen Violent Night? I highly recommend that, although not family viewing as it is very violent. Die Hard meets Home Alone by way of, er, something very violent.
Yes, I've still to watch Violent Night - looks good though. We've just watched Red One and I think you'll enjoy it. Cast and acting are great and it's made with heart if you get what I mean. Dear Santa, with Jack Black, had no heart and was a tick-in-the-box movie. Red One, on the other hand, is full of charm and it's great fun. I don't think I've ever seen a bad film with The Rock in it and he does his normal thing here - Chris Evans is great too. I'll give it 8/10

Just remembered I hadn't responded with my (our) views.

Both Sian and I very much enjoyed this. Definitely a feel-good film and Chris Evans does indeed shine in this, as does J.K. Simmons as Santa. I don't think I have anything negative to say. Plenty of action and humour.

I was shocked to see that this was one of Mark Kermode's top 5 WORST films of the year. His argument basically being that it should have been so much better given the weight of talent involved. I say bah humbug to you Mr. Kermode. Perhaps it could have been, but that didn't stop it being very good entertainment.

Also watched over the extended Christmas period were the first 4 Die Hard films.

I have no wish to watch the 5th instalment ever again. I saw it when it was released in the cinema, and that was enough.

I do quite like Mark Kermode but he can across as a bit of a knob sometimes.

I didn't realise how much Red One cost to make  :o :o - this from IMDb:

Budget
$350,000,000 (estimated)
