It looks like neither Bradford or Calderfail council bothered with any pre-emptive gritting even on the main roads, despite heavy snow being forecast since last Thursday. ::)

Shocking flooding in Leicestershire today. Fortunately my own home is built on high ground but some of my usual cycling routes are impassable. Hoping to get out on a bike tomorrow, but may have to improvise somewhat.

From what I can make out, the village of East Leake over the border in Nottinghamshire, which I cycled through on Saturday, is mostly underwater.

Just a lot of the usual flooding round here. It means most of my cycle routes are going to be a struggle tomorrow. If it's at all icy then I'll just forget it as water run off on the least used roads will turn them all into skid traps :(

String of nice weather coming up. In the forecast, anyway.

Don't forget, it's a forecast, not a will be

Appropriately named!

Absolutely pristine weather today; cloudless sky, zero wind, wonderfully crisp, a really satisfying crunch as my hiking shoes cut through the compacted snow.

It was the first time this year I've had the energy or inclination to spend more than five minutes outside, which was going okay for a while until I started feeling a bit ropey again - I might have overdone it, but I was soon home and some paracetamol and rest did the trick. :)

Things needing done outside today and it's just started snowing.😡🤬

Lovely over here. Cold this morning, just below zero but clear skies and sunshine.

Snow is just starting to melt - seems like it's been here for ages.

It was exceptionally pleasant this afternoon when I took the dog out.

The combination of a clear blue sky, barely a whisper of a breeze, cool temperatures that seemed mild because they've recently been freezing, the very last isolated patches of icy snow that I went out of my way to trample through in the deserted park, and a rare quietude disturbed only the soothing hum of a Lufthansa A350 about 10 kilometres above me, all did me the world of good in the hour I was out.  Lovely.

Think we're going to get well pummelled tomorrow.. 80 mph gusts for a time around these parts

Yeah whole of Ireland in status red warning for tomorrow.  No public transport running, all schools to close.  Imagine we could well be without power for a time

Avanti trains have cancelled their strikes - yay. Storms will likely affect travel in the NW - boo. I can still see us having to drive to Harrow on Saturday.
