Interesting watch but that record he enthuses about making with them, Snakes and Arrows is just a terrible record by anyone's standards. For that reason I've always been a bit sceptical about Raskulinecz.

Looking back I think there's a bit of a too romantic notion about Clockwork Angels, which I think might stem from the suspicion at the time that it might be their last, which turned out to be the case. I still like it but these days I find it all to be a bit frantic as if they tried too hard to recapture something. I think I'd have been happier with a kind of Signals Mk2 sign off. Lots of keyboards and fine aged mellow vocals.

Go wash your fingers with soap after typing such filth. There is no excuse, no greater  defamation to the memory of Neil than to ever work with a drum machine.

Every instrument, amp, pickup, effects pedal is a machine. Neil used electronics too, albeit sparingly. One minute everyone's in love with AI, next we're burning our 80s records. This poor fool's head can't keep up.

I'd also suggest that working with another drummer would be a more insensitive decision with regards to Neil's memory and legacy.

Anyway, not going to happen, so once my fingers are duly sanitised as suggested I'll maybe just reduce my sacrilegious tapping.

I'd say a Hail Mary for you if I had any sway in that matter. I don't, so let's put out this dimlit fire with some holy water and move on.

Point mostly for me is the process of creation, not the tool used. Neil used his Simmons pads, but the compositions were his own. And AI, lovely for dancing around with old photos and complicated calculus, is not suitable for anything even remotely creative.

On topic: I have nolt watched the Raswhatowicz' interview yet. So I need to start there.

And say what you like about Snakes and Arrows, it was still an upswing from it's predecessor! With you on Clockwork though, really enjoyed that one and still have a couple of tracks in the rotation from it (The Wreckers has been played a fair bit recently).

The trouble with the  last three albums was they were all too long.. cut them all down to 8 songs then they would have been half decent OMO.. and the closing track on CA The Garden was just awful twee AOR tosh.. a dismal end to the album
