The Picnic Wasp

Just a promotional outing for the Godin signature guitar I expect.

Oh dear! He should've let Morello handle the solo. Too much weed that day, perhaps.

Broken string on a floating bridge it seems. A few guitar tech savvies commenting on it saying it's a nightmare and throws everything out of tune.

Slim

Hm I shall forensically investigate this hypothesis later.

I'm relieved to hear this explanation ;D

Well it didn't take a lot of analysis .. this image was captured a few moments after he starts experimenting with note choices that would be considered courageous in avant garde jazz.

None of the strings are broken. I played the same notes (same fret positions) as Alex did during this unusual phase of the solo on a properly tuned guitar, and the same pitches came out. I'm forced to conclude that it's not the guitar.

Nick

Other comments noted a bolt broke on the headstock, which is not good PR for his guitar brand.

Slim

Yes it looked like Alex was blaming the tuning keys, or one of them. But he was definitely getting the right notes out of the fret positions he was playing.

Reminded me of David Beckham blaming a bobble on the pitch for a missed penalty.

Amazing to hear him doing those same flashy runs and licks he used to do in Working Man 50 years ago.

The Picnic Wasp

Maybe there was a fourth Rush guy hiding behind the amps after all.
