The sound quality on these newly released DT albums is phenomenal. I'm hoping they'll carry on with rest now.

7.06 AM: arrive at record store, get in line (approx. 40 already there!)
8.00 AM: store opens, 5 each time allowed in
8.30 AM: I get in, I prepared a 7 title list I want to get, always a bit nervous, can I get what I hope for?
8.40 AM: check out, I have all my titles, and 4 more (oops..)

So.., non RSD:
Led Zeppelin's Houses of the Holy, my old copy neede replacing
Mark Morton - Without the Pain (Lamof God guitarist made a bluesy southern rock album, well worth it)
The Mars Volta - Lucro Sucio (the new album)

RSD titles:
Golden Earring - the N.E.W.S. sessions 2LP
David Sylvian - Camphor II
Ry Cooder - The Main Point live 1972 (archival release)
Bill Evans - Further Ahead: Live in Finland 1964-1969
Charles Mingus - In Argentina: the Buenos Aires concerts (3LP)

V/A - Jazz Dispensary vol. 8: Night Lights

I did see the Jimmy Page / Black Crowes boxset, but I'll go back for that later.

All in all, not a bad haul!

Man, that's one disciplined approach to shopping.

For RSD I have to, if I want to get what I want. Most of these are one-off releases that go for ridiculous prices a day later on Discogs already.

Why do people get so obsessed with coloured vinyl? Complete BS, surely?
I was gutted that the Chuck Prophet album I've just ordered is only available in red vinyl. Black is best IMHO

Black is also coloured vinyl. Black is not the 'natural' colour for vinyl. The black is an additive, just like any other colour There is no difference in quality. There are noisy pressings, but that is unrelated to colour.

My post was not about noise just about the marketing strategy (some people buy more than one copy, I've heard). It's a gimmick IMHO ....as evidenced by the hype stickers.
I have a copy of BÖC's Fire of Unknown Origin on 'blue' vinyl which I bought to replace a poor copy, it is a shade of blue but has a big smear of black across one side. A bit like when a dog has dragged its dirty arse across a carpet. For me, it adds nothing to the owner experience.
I should have said "black is just fine IMHO"  :-\

I see, kind of hoe I do not care for signed copies. It doesn't add to my experience.

But if I see the overwhelming interest in exclusive copies of this and that, whether it is coloured, signed or limited editions, it keeps the industry alive and in doing so also my chance to buy things that would have otherwise perhaps not been available.

My RSD pucchases turned up today,no getting up at ungodly hours and queueing with the hoi-polloi for me, I just look online and see if anything of interest is left.

Saxon - Wheels of Steel and Live at Donington 1980 on Red and Blue vinyl.

Black Sabbath - The Eternal Idol (Translucent Ruby vinyl)

Jethro Tull - Songs from the Vault 1975-78 (recycled black vinyl)
