We don't know the full facts around his dismissal or why the BBC made the decision they did. He may have informed them of circumstances related to a historical incident that would have resulted in negative publicity for the company. We must assume that the BBC had reasonable grounds otherwise they would be liable for wrongful dismissal.

Not sure whether this should have gone in the BBC or Trump thread but it appears that for all its faults the BBC can still afford very good lawyers. Lawyers who may not only be able to disprove Trump's case against the BBC but as a result also prove that he was to blame for the events of January 6th.
