If they do come over I couldn't justify shelling out that kind of money to see them. Especially with Geddy's deteriorating voice

The prices are a bit eye watering so I think it would only be if they come to Glasgow for me. I couldn't be adding travel and hotel expense on top of that. The more I think about it the less a European leg seems likely. Rock music still has huge appeal across generations in the US, over here not so much.

Neil was supposed to have done the last tour, ten years ago now, very reluctantly because Alex might not be able to do it again. Because "after all the physical issues he'd endured over the past few years, (Alex) too was close to being done with touring"*

I don't believe that ten years later, Alex is going to be able to give 100% either.

He fixed his hair, teeth, weight problem. Who knows what else was fixed? Maybe a lifestyle change has lifted some of his ailments.

It's looking more like a last chance cash-grab, unfortunately. Respect the fans, charge realistic prices. Respect them more, add dates if demand is not met.

Slim

It does feel like a cash grab. You know after Neil retired I thought to myself one day, eventually, the other two will tour with another drummer.

If I thought they could still perform to a high standard, using a different drummer wouldn't bother me. I'm afraid I have to doubt it. Will be fascinating to see how it's received. That Saturday night in Newcastle in the summer of 1977 feels like a very long time ago now.

Yes, those memories, particularly the very early ones are precious. Perhaps the embarrassment of riches from this very slightly distasteful smash and grab might make them embarrassed enough to reach our shores. I still hope so. They owe me nothing and yet somehow I owe them quite a lot. Being obsessional about bass guitar is perhaps enough for my eternal gratitude. Funny though that when they both start or join new bands there's a wee bit of stuff involved. I think I'd be the same, rich beyond my wildest dreams in my seventies, never having had a job. I hope my decisions at that age are as tough, or happen.

Slim

There'll be another live album of course, and a BluRay.
