I thought the earthquake news might bring out a few tin foilers. Had a look on X, most of them are a variation on these two - the Americans did it to the Russians, or the Russians did it to the Americans.

I've just seen a tweet by Andrew Bridgen which includes an image that, he claims, shows an aircraft producing a contrail and an aircraft in the same shot producing a "chemtrail", in an attempt to show the difference between one and the other.

Obviously, this colossally uninformed dimwittery gets destroyed in the comments - is this guy actually deranged?

Didn't realise quite how far Russell Brand had descended into mouth breathing, knuckledragging fuckwittery. But SciMan Dan nails him quite nicely here.

Amusingly, Russell defends his general position by listing a number of conspiracy theories that he imagines now to be established facts, from vaccine harms to the Twin Towers coming down being an inside job. They're a bit like Bible literalists, the foilers. Exist in their own bubble and live in an atmosphere composed of their own distortions.
