So I got these ones. Not quite so inexpensive, but cheaper than the Shimanos. And like myself, they have a pleasingly long shaft.

Oh dear. Upper stem bolts on Boardman II looking a bit rusty:

The lower ones are part of a bike computer mount and still in creditable nick. The upper ones are original to the bike.

Anyway .. nice shiny new titanium ones. I have some of these on the Cannondale and they still look new after about ten years.
