Great albums even though on MM each song starts with the same drum machine beat.

The Aristocrats - Duck. This is a new band for me, and this is their most recent album. There are no vocals, only guitar, bass and drums. And brilliant it is too. There is no compression or any effects it's just simply the sound of 3 instruments played by talented musicians. No instrument is pushed to the fore, nor any pushed to the back and each takes its turn in the spotlight with clarity and separation. My only complaint is the album can get a bit samey as there really is nothing else except the 3 sounds. But wow it does sound good (Guthrie Govan (guitar), Bryan Beller (bass), and Marco Minnemann (drums)). If you like your music pure and without much fiddling, you'll love this. 9/10  Now it's time to listen to the rest of their albums.

Aristocrats, yes. never burnt my finger there, too tech-headed for me. Individually fantastic players, and if it serves the song, fine. But it's A LOT of notes ALL the time.
Having said that, out of all the 'shredders' (and I am not calling him that, but he seen like that by many) Govan is certainly the most versatile.

Minnemann is a beast, funnily enough Steven Wilson used the duo on (some) of his solo outings, but kept them in check, which is why it worked well for me then.
