That Beatles any good?

Yes .. the 2017 remaster sounds markedly better in terms of audio reproduction - it puts you "there in the room" a bit more. There are some nerdy details like the pitch being matched to the mono version in She's Leaving Home. But most importantly the mix just feels a bit more natural and coherent, for example in Fixing A Hole there's something a bit tense about the placement of the drums, they sound thin and unnaturally placed. They sound so much better on the 2017 mix.

On Lovely Rita the drums have a fullness and a punch to them that they don't have on the older versions. The bass sounds smoother and more rounded, too.

Good Morning Good Morning would be a good one to compare as well, the difference is night and day. So much more presence.

It's really good, very happy with it. A bit of a revelation.

I have heard some of it, but never sat down and really listened. I am not surprised it sounds great. In 67 the Beatles still recorded and mixed everything with mono as intended end product. The, for the time, infinite amount of layers made it near impossible with the equipment they had, to make a decent stereo mix.

I'll have a proper listen, I think I have a stereo mix a little before this one but this sounds like an upgraded one.

Picked up a used 2lp from Andrew Hill a while back. Bit rare as it appears, released by Blue Note, with 'leftover' material. That was so good I thought I'd try and find it digitally for the car as well. Turns out it is just as rare on cd but found a download of the archival clean out of his work on Mosaic records. 3 hours worth. Oh my this is good...
