I used to hold it in high regard but I gave it a listen a couple of years ago and I must admit I thought a lot of it was really pretentious wank.

Yep can understand the pretentious wank.. but I still love it .. Patrick Moraz just adds a certain something that Wakeman  never could...
Moraz is certainly tied for one first place in terms of solo output with Anderson when they disbanded after this album to do their own solo stuff
