Inevitably, I started drinking again on holiday in Montenegro. I wasn't going to, but I couldn't find a bar that offers 0% beer. Glad I did though because I discovered this stuff, a Rosé called Whispering Angel. In the past I've avoided Rosé as being a bit sickly sweet, but some of the pale ones are very nice.

This one was dry and slightly aromatic with a strong flavour - almost like a liqueur.

I bought a bottle of this at Tesco yesterday. At £21 a go I wouldn't be doing that very often, but it really is exquisite. Can be sipped like a cocktail.

They had Whsipering Angel at the restaurant at the Royal Albert Hall last night, but I wasn't going to make Mrs S shell out £60 for it. We made do with a very nice (crisp, apply, melony) Pecorino for the bargain price of £40...

Had some very nice Burgundies yesterday. A white Savigny-les-Beaune and a red Nuits-St-Georges. Got the serving temperature spot in for once. First went well with smoked salmon and prawns, the second washed down the Turkey a treat.

A bottle of Chateau Coutet Barsac 2016 eased down the 18 month Christmas pudding.

Enjoyed a bottle of Aldi's dupe version tonight. Saint Victoire Côtes De Provence. I haven't sampled the real thing as yet unfortunately, but at £10.99 this seemed a decent wine. Taking some of the aches away at least.

Slim must have a posh Tesco, Chesterfield Tesco don't sell £16 quid Rosé!
I was going to say I can't imagine paying that much for a Rosé, but I've been known to spend £19.20 on a Bandol Rosé from Tanners Wine Merchants

Got a really good depth of Peachy/Strawberry flavours and goes well with some plates of Tapas.

On our holiday in August our room had a complimentary bottle of Greek red wine from "Philoxenia" (it directly translates as "Hospitality" or more loosely as "Friend of strangers").

Now, I've always thought wine is one of the very few things Greece doesn't do well, but of course a Yorkshireman will take owt for nowt, so I brought it home.

Turned out it wasn't actually too bad; pleasantly drinkable while watching a film but not something I'd choose over, say, a bottle of 19 Crimes from the village shop.
