I do worry for the European tour, although I'm a pessimist by nature.  There isn't much of a gap between South America and Europe and there is quite a few SA dates as well...

I don't think you're being all that pessimistic. I've had a feeling since I bought my ticket that I might eventually receive a refund. I think it may hit my account before Christmas. I hope not.

I wonder what the financial implications are for the band if this doesn't work out. I suppose they will be well insured as part of their package with the promoters.

Anyway, get well soon Geddy and keep using the Voltarol Alex.

What struck me about Alex's apology video just now is how tired he looked. I hope they haven't bitten off too much with this.

That might happen. If so, given the ticket prices, there could be punters at the later shows (from here on in ) that would have the right to feel short-changed. What was intended as a 'celebration' could end up leaving a bad taste in the mouth for a lot of fans.
It will be interesting to see how it turns out.

I've enjoyed watching live stuff from tribute band AF2K recently. Made me think that Zack James would have been a great addition to the Rush back line for this tour. He could have done some heavy lifting on some of the very high register stuff. Even just the odd line in a song to stop Geddy damaging those ageing cords. Great singer. His performance on Marathon is stunning.
