RIP Edward Reekers

Dutch singer, voice actor (and more) Edward Reekers has passed. I knew he was Ill, he was part of the large ensemble of Ayreon but he had to cancel due to his illness.
Lung cancer. The older I get the more I hate this disease.

He was known here mostly as the singer of Kayak, somewhat succesful in the late 70s with Ton Scherpenzeel, most of you will know him from Camel.

Anyway, he had a very clear voice, impeccable pronunciation and was an all around talent.

As cheesy as it was, the biggest hit Reekers had with Kayak, was Ruthless Queen. A Typical 70s synth/ symfo pop ballad.
It always sounded like comfort to me.

Rest in peace Maestro.
