Alternatively there's Arturia Analog Lab Pro which has all those synths and more in software form for around £150 and sometimes half that when on sale. Something I really like is Rush Keys Deluxe by Allan Lobo who has programmed all the famous Geddy synth sounds including Taurus for use with Arturia Analog Lab. Looks great fun.

I've just taken a look at the Rush Keys Deluxe website. Mightily impressed and it must have been a tremendous amount of work to build all those presets. Thanks for the heads-up about that 

From what I can tell you don't need full blown Analog Lab to import the presets according to the website blurb. I've got Analog Lab Intro (a licence was included with my Arturia Minilab 3) and this will do the trick. In fact the free Play version will also work, so I think you would only actually need to fork out for that Presets pack.

Thanks Reg. I was planning to buy a Minilab in the not too distant future as a part of my desk tidy up. I originally planned to go for the Keylab Essential which too includes software, but at 49 Keys I wasn't achieving the workspace I so badly need so I'm delighted to learn that the Minilab is perfectly workable. I wonder if I'll ever buy a set of midi footpedals, or is that just a sad step to far? This stuff was all just fantasy daydream material in my true Rush addiction days. I sometimes still can't take in that all this is achievable without leaving the house. Wish I could write decent songs though. I think (some of) the lyrics are alright!

Oh...it's actually pronounced "Moag", is it?  I've been under the wrong impression for only about 45 years, then.

I've known that for years, but still say it like a bovine noise with a "g" at the end. It's how it's spelt innit.

Nop might disagree with our insistence on cattle impersonation.

Meh (see what I did there?), I am ok with the Moog pronounced incorrect. Not in the last place because I too did so...
Moag, don't know. Feels like Moag-ue, making it a fancy instrument.

Apologies, Nop. I mistakenly guessed that Moog was a Dutch surname and thought that Moag was how it should be said. But what I've now read suggests it is German. I'm going to stick with Minimoooog though. I prefer its familiarity. I'm still trying to find the article or video where Geddy mentions his error. Maybe it's in his effing memoir.

I'm delighted to learn that the Minilab is perfectly workable.

Just be aware that I am not a musician as such. I just like to play with chords and make sounds. The Minilab 3 is only a 2 octave keyboard so you won't be doing any church organ recitals, although I did take advantage of an IK Multimedia sale a while back to get their stunning Hammond B-3X virtual instrument for less than half price. Cracking cheese Gromit.
