Last Thursday, Burnham took the Prime Ministerial jet on a 55 minute flight from Stanstead to Glasgow for the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games then the following day used it again for a 33 minute flight down to Manchester to introduce the world to "No. 10 in The North".
With blatant hypocrisy like that on display from our leaders, is it any wonder that the man in the street gives not a shit when lectured on reducing their environmental impact. It's a load of bollocks

Didn't thonk it was set in, but it took about five miles to fizzle out, not that there was too much intensity to it. It did keep trying to make another appearance, but it never threatened an intensity where you would have to man up. The air didn't seem as thick today either.
Once again the ride I'd planned to do didn't happen as loada of new roadworks had sprung up which looked as if they were causing delays. So I just rode abuut quite locally doing what in my mind was a mini Flanders classic, lots, well three or four, of little kicker hills. Managed to getmy forty miles in without even getting as far as Tibshelf.
That's July's cycling done for me now, got in 725 miles with 47,000 feet of climbing.

The UK needs to focus on spending a lot of billions on reservoirs, canals and irrigation. Even in Scotland where water shouldn't be an issue, there needs to be a system to deliver huge volumes to vulnerable forest and moorland areas. As we know, Loch Ness contains more water than all the lakes of England and Wales combined, but that's a bit of a waste when the surrounding area is on fire.
Just imagine if the city of Bordeaux had caught fire, it really would be like nuclear was had arrived.
And still millions of people each day travel seemingly necessarily on aircraft.
Edit: Every time I type something like this I can't help but think about Basil Fawlty's comment about Sybil having a degree in the bleedin' obvious. Can't help it!
