Got a stall RAH seat for the 28th October Wilson gig, anyone going? I think it's an expanded version of the Overview gigs from last year, with a live orchestra and choir. Indulgent? Yep!

Balked at the prices for that, but to be expected I suppose. Want to catch them once more live before DB retires, but would prefer a regional/theatre gig.

The QotSA set was incendiary, must get a ticket to see them live. Gn'R looked bored, yet they played pretty well (despite Axl's hyper-ventilating yelps). Elton was utterly fantastic, and looked genuinely happy and pleased to be there. Very doddery though, probably the right decision to retire. What an incredible crowd though, estimates were 120,000? My other highlights were the Manics, Rick Astley and Blossoms doing The Smiths set, and Maggie Rogers.

I always felt it was a bit of a Swan-song, and even after their triumphant Wembley gig it never felt like a new beginning to me. Guess we're lucky that it happened at all?

After not doing many gigs the last few years (2022; Pearl Jam twice in Hyde Park, Nick Mason in Guildford; both Covid-affected rescheduled dates, and PT at Wembley) I've got a few smaller gigs booked for 2023 already:

Mar. 23rd - Paul Draper @ Boiler Room, Guildford (doing Mansun's 'Six' live)
Apr. 23rd - Reef @ Boiler Room, Guildford (with When Rivers Meet supporting)

Plus my usual slew of pub gigs with 3 different bands! 

No 'big' gigs booked yet. I have to say that nothing's really appealed, and if it has I've been put off by the ticket prices (£112 for a GA ticket for Gn'R in Hyde Park?! Too much). Hoping to add to the list though.

I remember thinking, like you, I had better see them before they drop dead/stop touring. Little did I know they would be still touring 20+ years later.

Nope, we got Cheryl Crow as support who was also excellent!

I thoroughly enjoyed this re-boot, everything about it screams cinema blockbuster. Even the Cruiser turns in a decent performance. The scene with him and Iceman was a nice touch too, quite moving actually. But it's essentially the same film as the 80's version right, surely everyone sees this?

As a huge Twin Peaks fan I had the OST CD to the series back in the 90's, which featured a lot of jazz and blues tinged instrumentals - well worth a listen if you've not heard it. I used to play this CD whilst driving late at night; the perfect setting!

I saw this on the big screen shortly before Christmas and thought it was a pretty decent instalment. The film is essentially the same story again (Sky people vs. Pandora blue peeps), but with a focus on Sully's new family. Some interesting themes touched upon, a few daft ones too, but we're really here for the James Cameron touchstones of military tech and stunning visuals. The design dept. have outdone themselves with the underwater flora and fauna of Pandora, which is visually stunning. I found the 3 hours runtime flew buy in a blur of blue, explosions, violent deaths and expensive special effects but is it really any good? It's no cinematic masterpiece but it's lovely screen-candy; if you enjoyed the first one I'm sure you'll enjoy this one.
