Title: How Are You? It’s Alan (Partridge)
Post by: Matt2112 on September 19, 2025, 07:51:23 PM
This new Alan Partridge BBC series starts on Friday 3rd October at 9.30pm.

A "box set" of all 6 episodes will also be available on iplayer.

I very much hope the writing is a lot stronger than on This Time, the lame piss-take of The One Show, and the dud of his last live show, Strategem.

But I'm looking forward to it.

I watched the first two episodes last night and thought it was quite good. Enough funny bits to make it worthwhile anyway.

Watched two so far.

The first one is okay.

The second is actually pretty good! So good in fact that at times I was getting a welcome The Day Today vibe from it; a very pleasant surprise.

Yep, 4 episodes done and thoroughly enjoying it: the writing is sharp and clever, the gags rarely miss the mark and Steve Coogan has never been better as Partridge; a very welcome return to form.

The scene on This Time when the Irish Lad starts singing Irish rebel songs is one of Steve Coogan's finest moments.

It was certainly the best scene of that series, it was just a shame the rest of it wasn't up to that standard.
