Title: Wimbledon '25
Post by: Slim on July 04, 2025, 12:50:41 PM
Enjoying this Wimbledon so far. Disappointed that Dan Evans didn't give Tosservic more of a game yesterday.

Emma up against Sabalenka later, in ranking terms that's #40 vs #1 so it would be an upset if she goes any further. But she's played well so far.

Hopefully Alcaraz  will get the men's title.. top bloke

So Emma was beaten but she took the best player in the women's game to a first set tiebreaker and put up a good fight in the second set as well. Decent Wimbledon for her.

He did well but in the end, just not good enough to beat the GOAT!

Hopefully those four sets will have taken it out of the old scumbag and he'll be cleaned from the tournament in the quarters.

Absolutely no shame for Novak if that happens, he's still enhanced a great legacy with his performance so far at this tournament.
GOAT  ;)

I can't watch some of this tennis. the screaming and grunting (mainly the women - yes you Sabalenka) makes it unwatchable for me. They should just ban it now, it's getting ridiculous.

Yeah sabalenka in particular is really annoying.. why can't they give her a noise warning..

Thankfully. Watching the next semi is so much nicer without all that screeching. It must put other players off - maybe opponents should complain about her (and the others that do it).

It is nonsense and she ramps up when it gets to the business end of sets.... It's pretty close to cheating really.. fk her

Yes, and also well done for not bowing to Catherine Middleton when collecting his trophy.

He clearly bows his head in 'deference' to 'her royal skinnyness'. Awkward and not exaggerated but it was definitely there.

I don't think that's royal etiquette deference, just the nod of thanks anyone would give to anyone when presented with something.

I was pleased Sinner won. It's good for the sport to have a rivalry at the top and boring when one player dominates it. Would have been Alcaraz' third in a row.

Sinner fortunate that Dimitrov had to retire cos he was well on the way.. anyway seems a decent bloke and fairly grounded..
