This came up in FB feed the other day and I mistook it for just another fake article. I did notice that he didn't look great in the photo at the time, and I agree that his voice sounds slightly weak and faltering compared to his usual clarity of speech. So, yes, I hope he's ok, particularly as he mentions some family history of the issue.
Google mentions some failed hiatal hernia surgery. Might be nonsense or ancient history but I'd never heard of it before. Goes on to say he's had to give up drinking and smoking. I'm sure this would have been reported somewhere else if true.

I'm a wine collector too, but when the inventory figure reaches three or four I tend to drink them.😁
I didn't think this merited a thread but I've been watching some Geddy interviews from different times in his career. It's amazing how much his speaking voice has deepened over the decades.
One UK promotional clip of around Counterparts really stood out to me. His speaking voice almost had those Michael Jackson childlike tones from time to time. I must try to find an example of a precise period when it noticeably dipped.
Such a shame it changed so dramatically but totally understandable given the pounding those vocal cords took over the years and thousands of gigs. We're lucky they stood up to that so well.
