Passed at 65, far too young.
Phenomenal actor, his over the top portrayal of Doc Holliday and mainly his role next to Robert de Niro in Heat I will always remember.

That's sad. I think I only saw three of his films. Batman Forever, Heat and (of course) Top Gun. I don't think anyone did Batman better.

Sounds like a similar situation to EVH. Both heavy smokers. RIP

Sad news indeed.

For addition to a Val Kilmer retrospective should you wish to indulge in one, I would add Shane Black's directorial debut from 2005, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.
