Birdland is a classic WR tune, for drummers especially since there's hardly any playing, just some percussive use of (mostly) hi-hat en a bass drum here and there. makes sense with Alex Acuna playing it. Intended to shine as another Jaco Pastorius masterclass, Zawinul wrote this as opening tune to the classic
Heavy Weather album. So what happens if you gie this to Brann Dailor, metaldrummer extraordinaire known for his supersmooth and fast drumrolls, and energetic playing?
