Title: Gregg Wallace
Post by: Fishy on November 29, 2024, 04:33:14 PM
You have to wonder wtf is going on when people like Kirsty Wark come out about some remark made in 2011 from this bloke.. I mean if you were that angry why not raise it then instead of over 12/13 years later..

This is no way to belittle any of the other terrible things that have happened to people many many years ago in terms of sexual abuse etc  but it just seems you can't open your mouth without someone taking offence and indeed taking offence years later...

And I'm not a fan of Gregg by any means..

Sitwell added Wallace "fires off jokes like he's running a Bernard Manning comedy workshop. Some are plain silly, others outrageous. Which is, of course, the point of jokes."

Not sure that helps him much..

From the allegations it seems he's been inappropriate and borderline creepy. Someone at the BBC should have had a word. But not via the BBC News site.

She says he would constantly say inappropriate things to her, such as making comments that his wife was only two years older than her.
"It made me uncomfortable," she said. "What am I meant to say in response to that?"

Maybe it's me but that's a pretty innocuous remark surely..

I think he's just a bit of a balloon. Nothing else.

Yes, he's acted like a blokey idiot, but it all seems quite tame. But why has it all come together now?

I've worked with guys in the past who acted like this and I suppose looking back now it was inappropriate but I never saw anyone complain about it - must be a sign of the times.

John Barrowman springs to mind in this and he's went through a similar thing and not really worked again. Apparently he was waving his willy about but he has completely denied it. So who is lying?

The Sun reporting that Wallace guilty of 'groping' and his actions were known about at least 12 years ago. This is rapidly changing from unpleasant, lecherous bloke abuses his position on cooking show, to BBC go to lengths to protect their 'talent'........again.

I've just listened to Wallace's Instagram rant about middle-class women, and the occasional tendency, as he would have us believe, of female contestants to engage in sexual innuendo. He just comes across as a very unpleasant little man. He'd definitely have been well advised not to throw a bit of class warfare into the mix, and to stop digging. His TV career is over now, I'm sure. I certainly hope so, anyway.

Looks like he's taken it down now, but 5 Live played it about an hour ago.

Yes the "it's only middle class women of a certain age that are complaining" isn't helping his case..

Don't think we'll be seeing much of you on the telly any time soon mate..

Inappropriate humour is funny...but you should know your audience and choose the time and place...and he's a cock as well, so see ya...

The only English Wallace I know is Gromit's counterpart. From what I read here I am not missing much.

From some stupid remarks to some pretty lurid stories especially the ghostwriter woman..... bye bye Gregg

Oh dear .. these things do have a way of snowballing. The BBC have already pulled the Masterchef Christmas shows, I would expect the rest of the regular series will be canned now.

I've never watched it in my life so I'm not really bothered.

It's quite a good watch and as much as I don't like him..it's probably not a good idea replacing him.  Top Gear was never really the same after Clarkson and the others left...

Haven't heard anything so far that warrants him being cancelled.  He's a nob and sexist...that's part of the reason why he's watchable.

Used to watch it regularly, but these days I only Watch Masterchef the Professionals

Before last night's episode the continuity announcer said:

QuoteThis programme contains scenes of Greg Wallace which some viewers may find disturbing

Bye bye ..

Gregg Wallace has been sacked as MasterChef presenter as a result of an inquiry into alleged misconduct, BBC News understands.
It comes as 50 more people have approached the BBC with fresh claims about the TV presenter - including allegations he groped one MasterChef worker and pulled his trousers down in front of another. Wallace denies the claims.

"I will not go quietly. I will not be cancelled for convenience. I was tried by media and hung out to dry well before the facts were established."

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/ckg5knz7ve6o

But the weight of evidence of (minimally) very creepy behaviour is so strong that it doesn't really matter, in terms of being "hung out to dry", whether more serious allegations are true or not. He'd do well just to stop digging and go away.

Well, he can play the 'Aussie' card. Being uncultured and rude is in their DNA. Should appeal  ;D

Apparently Torode has just taken to social media to report that he's heard nothing.....from anyone. I'd wager that he's not been 'sacked' by the BBC (as reported on MSM). Was he ever employed by them? Masterchef is made by a TV production company so they may have employed him. I think the BBC have made a decision not to commission any more shows featuring John but are trying to deceive licence payers that they are taking a hard line over his indiscretion.
I think they are essentially lying to Joe Public to save Tim Davie's skin. He's the one that needs to be fired. And then stop the telly tax.
