Spotted yesterday on my car. A bit late in the year, I thought. But it was completely immobile, possibly already dead. It was about 3C out there at the time. There was a thin layer of snow on the roof of the car.
A bit of Internet research suggests that it's a male Vespula germanica. A common species in the UK, though a bit less so than Vespula vulgaris. Over the year, the vast majority of wasps you're likely to encounter of either species are female.

Wasps are cunts...
Well this one isn't quite so cunty as most of them. The male ones can't sting and they don't annoy people by foraging for food for the colony.

Just seen a couple flying around outside. Been a wasp's nest in our eaves and they're obviously still home.
