Clear here.. Jupiter is so bright...
Jupiter looks amazing. Nice clear skies here. I've never particularly recognised Taurus but it was easy to find Pleiades, in the same part of the sky. But I gave up after 15 minutes, my neck started to ache.
The lounger would have made life easier but with unfortunate timing, I relocated it to the garage for the winter only today.
Lovely view of Orion, low in the eastern sky. I always find that poignant because I remember gazing at it from our garden one amazingly starry night as a kid, probably in 1970 or so. And yet when you look at the stars of Orion in 2024, you're seeing them as they were hundreds of years even before that. The closest star in Orion is 250 light years away so when you look at it you're literally looking into the past, roughly the time of the American War of Independence.
