I figured I want to try something new, being an avid reader of the Dutch drum magazine Slagwerkkrant, I noticed a review for Stagg cymbals.
Now Stagg has been around for some 20 years, maybe more, they are form China and operate in the lower (more affordable) end of the market. I never eeally considered this brand, I play Sabian, and I used to play Paiste, so called A Brands. There are more, but Stagg os not considered one of them.
Now that I am back to band practice quite a bit more, I wanted to see what I could add and figured I'd needed a large crash cymbal. Sabian would set me back some 400Eur for an AAX series, a litlle less for an AA when buying a 19" crash. And then the review caught my eye.
So I have taken the plunge and boght a 147 (!) eur 19" Stagg Myra cymbal, a series the brand have recently revamped and renewed. Curious to see and mainly hear what I have bought and how it holds up.

Not really a status cymbal then.

It's too sunny here for a coat, otherwise I'd hand you one.

So, bumping this since I had some time to spend with the Stagg. It is more or less what I expected, as in: a bit darker, a bit less responsive and bit less bright.
Would I consider buying a full Stagg set up? No.
Would I consider buying one or two more as effect cymbals? Yes probably.
It just goes to show how fast the development went, all cymbals are alloys, of course the fancier the alloy the more you have to work with.
Overall I'd give this a 7/10, which is not bad considering the price.
