Well, as I expected - the new Doctor Who was comically bad; it's tanked and quite rightly it's been very poorly received. It seems that a lot of reviewers are blaming the descent of the show into hysterical limp-wristed wokery on Disney, but I think we know that's the BBC's doing.
Couldn't make it up, really.
It's all been downhill since Tom Baker...
Just a vehicle for the BBC to foist their woke nonsense on viewers as they continue to try to mould the world into the one they believe we should live in.
It's criminal that I'm forced to pay for this crap

You mean Jon Pertwee surely...😀
As I mentioned in the "What's on...." thread this was the first Dr Who I've watched since Matt Smith left. I thought it was pretty good tbh. My wife mentioned to me that some reviews were very positive - depends where you look I suppose.
Very cogent, but bluntly NSFW analysis here. Quite a lot of these have turned up on YouTube now.
What a load of woke shite.
Managed about 20 mins of the latest one..
Shit..
The film/TV reviewer The Critical Drinker on YT is another well worth checking out for his astute dismantling of the calamity this show has become in recent years.

Fortunately, mine's still young enough that she listens to her rationalist, classical libertarian daddy (and isn't interested in Doctor Who regardless). ;)
I didn't like the start of this current series at all. The first 2 episodes were dire ('space babies' ffs). Episode 3 was OK'ish and I decided to stop watching. However, I accidentally caught ep4 as I was waiting for my wife to get ready and I really liked it and possibly one of the best Dr Who episodes I've seen. The most recent episode was pretty good too (a Black Mirror vibe for sure). So for me, it's really hit and miss, which I suppose is down to who writes a particular episode. It does get childish quite a bit though and I so wish these actors could actually speak properly without this modern-day slang and miss pronouncing of words which seems to be acceptable these days.
Episode 4 indeed the best of the current crop so far . . . . . apart from the awful ending which didn't wrap things up in any kind of satisfactory manner.
The scenes set in the Welsh village pub were sublime though.
