Title: Elon Musk, Twitter
Post by: dom on October 04, 2022, 09:06:01 PM
So Musk is going ahead with the 44 billion dollar purchase of Twitter.

He must have very poor research. Has no one told him? Its completely free on the Play store

He's all about column inches. Might be compensating for a lack of them elsewhere

When folk claiming they are liberals are claiming an increase of free expression is a bad thing, you know they are eating themselves.

His ego is off the charts. Apparently he was a guest of Rupert Murdoch's at the last Super Bowl. He tweeted best of luck to one of the teams as did Biden. Musk barely watched the game after that. He got angrier and angrier as he saw how many more views and likes Biden was getting compared to him.  He got in touch with his senior engineering team and left for the office before the game had finished.  He called in the team of engineers to try and work out how this happened.

They ended up creating an algorithm designed to give his tweets a higher priority than anyone else's..

What a prick!

On the other hand I did read it on twitter so looks like he really is a proponent of free speech

At least he's a US citizen. The Democrats are being helped by the government of a foreign nation (UK)

They're being helped by the ruling party, not quite the same thing. The Tories have had welcome help from American political strategists in the past in this country, I can't honestly see much wrong with it from a US perspective.

From our own perspective it's pretty stupid IMO given that it will damage relations with the Americans if Trump wins, but that's a different issue.

I heard an interview with John Bolton on LBC last week. He said that Trump would have got rid of him by the summer. I thought that was optimistic, personally.

There was 130-day cap on his appointment so he would have had to leave by the end of May anyway. I'm surprised John Bolton is not aware of this.

He probably programmed him to be autonomous, as soon as he realised what a dick his father really was he started punching him.

Well John got this one right, although to be fair a lot of people thought their relationship would implode at some point.
