Title: Riverside ending
Post by: dom on April 23, 2026, 06:22:17 PM
Mariusz Duda has announced that he's leaving Riverside which essentially means that Riverside is ending.

Great band and it's a great pity but delighted I got to see them live twice

He says that they weren't getting on that well and he's going to concentrate on Lunatic Soul ( no bad thing and a good consolation)

Shame, great band that I found a lot more interesting than a lot of other prog, neo or otherwise. For some reason they never topped the first song they ever released (the Same River) for me.

Not that interested in Duda's solo work.

Arse. One of my three favourite live acts.

That's really unmade my day. I was hoping to see them another three times to overtake Rush in my most seen band stakes. Got to hope Opeth keep touring - but Akerfeldt isn't that enamoured with it. What's the chance of me seeing the Von Hertzen Brothers another nine times?

Must admit the fan club have been downbeat lately.

Wonder who he didn't get in with?

Lunatic Soul? OK at times and they have been getting a bit more Riversidey, but not enough.

That is shit news :( . I like pretty much everything they've done - even the lighter albums. Oh well, a great catalogue of music to keep listening to I suppose.

Amazing live band (seen a few times) but tbh since Piotr passed away I haven't been a huge fan of the output. Their first 4 albums are bloody fantastic though! Real shame I won't be able to see them play again.
