I've installed an extension to the site called Highslide.
What this does is this: when you click on an image on the site, an image viewer should pop up, so that you can see it full size. The forum software usually displays images at a constrained size. This gets round that. So if you click on the image below, you'll see what I mean.
It's pretty non-intrusive and won't affect anything at all unless you click on an image, but if you do have a comment or query, do let me know.

No issues, I like it. Makes it 'pop' also due to the white outline.

Yes, though that will be more apparent in "dark mode". Another nice feature is that you can use the scrollwheel to zoom images in the image viewer.
