A drumming legend has died.
Jack Dejohnette was one of the 'go to' guys in the 70s and 80s for jazz funk type of stuff.
He was the main rhythm man on Bitches Brew, and the subsequent years, that I consider highlights in Miles Davis' career. Jack Johnson, On the Corner, a slew of live recordings all show a band on fire, with Dejohnette cracking the whip.
He worked with nearly all jazz greats up to the very end.
