Adding a keyboard player!
(Maybe they can sneak in a vocalist ;D )
Seriously though, great news I think. If they are having fun, why not? No one is forcing anyone to go see them. The whole leave the legacy alone thing is a lot of blabla after all (says the Kissfan).
Maybe they will do some Euro dates, depending on how well the US dates sell of course.
As an aside: I would not be surprised if a selection of Ye Olde T-N-M-S-ers would raise their heads here.

Agreed, fingers crossed for something a bit closer to home, they did seem to harbour some genuine guilt over not making it last time... I'd be lying if I said I hadn't put myself on the Toronto presale list mind you! Always wanted to see them on their home turf so likely my last chance.

I'll just copy what I posted a minute ago on TNMS Rocks!
I'm with Pudders, not at all sure about this. Especially given the challenges the two of them face with touring (sure to be extended if tickets sell out). I know Geddy in particular feels he needs to do live shows but I'm praying that they don't end up tarnishing the legacy.
I'd expect this on April 1st 😏
I'm very, very surprised at this. And, to be honest, a little disappointed.
Really have two minds about this, especially as they're calling it RUSH .. on one hand: it's too late, with or without Neil .. on the other - it's sort of sweet, isn't it? Two old men revisiting their past glories?

Honestly for me, as much I love his drumming, Neil's primary contribution was always the lyrics, which are still there, and having Ged less tied to keyboards is a great idea (albeit possibly one born out of necessity given his age and the amount of work involved!).

I wonder which tunes they'll do? I suspect the more energetic / powerful tunes from their earlier years will not be happening. I certainly hope not, anyway. The more I think about this the less I like it really.

I imagine it took a lot for Geddy to give up the keys and the mountain of pedals/triggers he's always used. Common sense took over though I imagine. I wonder if they will tone down the songs at all so that he won't have to strain his voice too much?

Surely he'd be bored rigid? Unless they change the arrangements considerably, I'd doubt it would be challenging enough for him to consider. Perhaps he could eat a three-course Indian during the set ;D

Greatest hits thing no doubt. But what's interesting is that they say they can mix things up depending on the night. Sounds like a more loose approach than to what they used to do. They're not Pearl jam obviously, but they rehearsed 35 songs, so a set of 22-24 songs, and they can vary.
I am not oppposed the idea to be honest. They (Alex and Geddy) were mostly bound to Neil's constraints in the end. (and yes, the voice thing).
Mmm, not sure about this. Initially excitement, then dread. Let's see how it's going to go.

Why? A tour does not mean 'we're puttin' the band back together!'
Alex seemed to enjoy that as an outlet, so it's not unlikely it will continue.
Is it too soon to start a setlist thread? What will they open with? The Spirit of Radio gets my vote for that. But those that will say Tom Sawyer might be far off either.
One thing that keeps popping into my head is this: how much of CA will they do, it felt to me like a Neil album, it was their goodbye and in coming back for some fun shows, (A Tribute to the Music of Rush?) it seems unfitting to revisit that particular album.

Wouldn't have thought so, hope not anyway I quite like them!
Songs I think likely that I'd love them to do:
Subdivisions
Afterimage
Between The Wheels
Grand Designs
Time Stand Still
All the above but Afterimage would be great. If they do get a keyboard player, and Ged stated he wants to play keys on the "hits", then they have to go heavy on Grace,Power and HYF, otherwise there won't be enough content.
When the Rush.com email dropped into my inbox I have to admit to feeling slightly torn about this. R40 wasn't all that, although I would have loved the opportunity to witness it.
The stage set didn't appeal to me somehow and Geddy's Big Book Of Bass promotion took the edge off that iconic image he has always owned on stage. I'm a bass guitar fanatic but the pageant of weird looking models around his neck just didn't sit right. The Rickenbackers needed to be Jetglo.
The other angle is the respect I have (had) for their power trio status. They were supremely the best at that and additional members just seems an alien concept. The string ensemble I could accept as it was just Rush with sprinkles.
What might Neil make of this as he sips his unearthly estate (cue Matt & James) Macallan? He picked the time when he decided enough was enough and he had stated in the past that Geddy's vocal cords would be contributory to that decision. No doubt he would nod in approval of his wife and daughter enjoying a top-up via performance royalties to his estate, but the Silver Surfers sale probably massaged that fund a little. Who knows what that man of strong opinions might really have thought.
If it rolls into Europe the following year when Geddy and Alex will be what, 73, and if they stay fit and healthy and are enjoying it and playing well, I will be delighted and probably a bit overwhelmed to witness it again. I just hope it doesn't feel a bit like a circus act.
I am pretty sure Neil would have enjoyed the idea. He was always very supportive of other drummers practicing the Craft to the extent he would pick 'winners' in Modern Drummers' (the magazine) contests as far back as 1987. Being the new Kid himself, he'd appreciate the new new Kid for sure.
But alas, no one will really know, eh? (adding a lil' Canuck touch here for good measure).
And to be fair: anyone standing on a stage is making a circus, willingly or not.
Well, he got to sit, but at least he had the red nose.
That was fast..

Interesting to see how they are not travelling, probably best for their age.
On that basis would a European tour perhaps not be viable if they can't build a multiple date structure. I wonder how the finances would stack up for for 4 x London O2, 2 x NEC or Manchester, 2 x Glasgow Hydro. I don't know what the audience figures are for mainland Europe or if they could condense the shows into two or three countries. How many shows would it take to be profitable?

Wasn't the HYF tour just the UK and Rotterdam? I'm sure that's what the back of my tour t shirt says...
I think Europe might be a non-starter. I think Clockwork Angels only visited Holland, Germany x2, Sweden and Finland. Very rough and quick mental arithmetic suggests the UK leg only played to about 80,000 people.
The London O2 could handle that number over four nights if folk were willing to travel. The novelty of the occasion might swell that number to a degree, but can a show of that scale travel for four or five dates? I have my doubts and hope to be proved wrong but I feel another apology coming our way after they've banked the final payday.
I say final, but that's ignoring the beer, mustard, pinball machines, Godin, Fender, Gibson and possibly Epiphone signature guitars, amps, guitar and bass effects pedals, books, book signing tours, side projects, anniversary record releases, a few million tee shirts, baseball caps, hoodies............I think they'll be ok well into their eighties without taking a London bow or four.
I don't know what I think about this but I suspect I'd prefer them not to come to Europe. Every time they've toured the UK since I was about 18 I've had a sort of irrational fear that I'd miss out, I used to have bad dreams about it. I just don't want the stress but also I don't want the spectacle of seeing old men trying to do what I saw them do brilliantly (usually) as young men many times.

I think they'll play Europe. I'm not sure they'll wait until 2027, though and I'm not sure how successful an arena tour might be in terms of bums on seats...

Yes, arenas are garbage. They feel like fairgrounds with folk milling around in their thousands buying expensive tat and eating junk food. The Royal Albert Hall would be amazing. I've never been. I have the David Gilmour at the Royal Festival Hall DVD and that looks a great venue too. I was tempted to go and see Peter Hammill there but the hip stopped me. My dream Rush concert would be when I win the Euromillions and hire them to play the Royal Glasgow Concert Hall. You'd all be welcome! Steven Wilson there recently was the best concert sound I have ever experienced and I was right at the back, way up high. Mind you I'm surprised everyone attending wasn't high with the amount of weed smoke in the foyer at the interval.
IF a U.K. leg happens then I think it will be no more than three venues - Glasgow Hydro (where they've never before played), Manchester Co-Op (where they've never before played) and London O2, with only London possibly hosting two nights.
And as a frothing, swivel-eyed fanboi, I'd go to all of them.

I remember standing in the SECC for the HYF tour. It was the days before they had the heavy curtains to try and sort out the sound to some extent. The acoustics were like having a biscuit tin taped to each side of your head and got so bad I had to tell myself "this is Rush!" Or I would just have left. Other people I met afterwards thought it wasn't as bad as my experience, so I can only assume I was in an area with very poor acoustic reflections. Fingers crossed I get the chance to hear them in the Hydro. Well, two of them anyway. It would be interesting see what Geddy actually does with his unleashed time. I hope his knees can withstand a few more bunny hops.
I have seen bnds play halls here in Holland that we during the weeks used for cattle trade. Not small bands either. Ridiculous if you think on that.
I once saw Extreme (at their peak) play the Rijnhal in Arnhem, and a week later I was in the same hall with 1200 others taking an exam.
Things have changed quite a bit here I have to say, there are plenty of indoor venues with decent capacity that have great acoustics and facilities now.

I know ticket prices in the US are a bit higher than here, but $323 for the cheapest one?
I wonder how much in terms of % will go to Peart estate.
Just had a look at Toronto and cheapest is CAD$253 - back row up the side
Then cad$417 for restricted view in the lower bowl
Then it's on to CAD$922 for the basic VIP package,

The prices are a bit eye watering so I think it would only be if they come to Glasgow for me. I couldn't be adding travel and hotel expense on top of that. The more I think about it the less a European leg seems likely. Rock music still has huge appeal across generations in the US, over here not so much.

Neil was supposed to have done the last tour, ten years ago now, very reluctantly because Alex might not be able to do it again. Because "after all the physical issues he'd endured over the past few years, (Alex) too was close to being done with touring"*
I don't believe that ten years later, Alex is going to be able to give 100% either.

He fixed his hair, teeth, weight problem. Who knows what else was fixed? Maybe a lifestyle change has lifted some of his ailments.
It's looking more like a last chance cash-grab, unfortunately. Respect the fans, charge realistic prices. Respect them more, add dates if demand is not met.
It does feel like a cash grab. You know after Neil retired I thought to myself one day, eventually, the other two will tour with another drummer.
If I thought they could still perform to a high standard, using a different drummer wouldn't bother me. I'm afraid I have to doubt it. Will be fascinating to see how it's received. That Saturday night in Newcastle in the summer of 1977 feels like a very long time ago now.
Yes, those memories, particularly the very early ones are precious. Perhaps the embarrassment of riches from this very slightly distasteful smash and grab might make them embarrassed enough to reach our shores. I still hope so. They owe me nothing and yet somehow I owe them quite a lot. Being obsessional about bass guitar is perhaps enough for my eternal gratitude. Funny though that when they both start or join new bands there's a wee bit of stuff involved. I think I'd be the same, rich beyond my wildest dreams in my seventies, never having had a job. I hope my decisions at that age are as tough, or happen.

And it's all Paul McCartney's fault.
Quite a risk this model. High prices plus reliance on people having to travel and stay at the selected locations. There can only be a finite amount of Rush fans in Fort Worth, once they have been, then the stadiums need to be filled with "out of towners". It's not quite the same as say a Vegas stint.
The following post has got a lot of likes on r/rush:
Good for Geddy and Alex to get back out and they can charge what they want but there is a point at which I feel like I being taken advantage of and that point has been reached. Not paying 300 plus for nosebleeds or 650-2500 for the good seats dressed up as something special because you get a few trinkets and early access to the merch booth. Maybe the logic is to price tickets at a level that scalpers are anticipated to sell at so the band gets the money. IDK, but it looks like a greedy cash grab for a couple guys that have plenty of money during a down economy. Huge turn off for my favorite band.
I used an inflation calculator to work out what my first Rush ticket cost in 2025 terms. About £11.50 (it was £2 in 1977 money).
To have some perspective, I asked Perplexity to do some comparing for me. Just to ake sure I am not feeling it is an expensive endeavour, but also have some figures to back that up. I first asked to compare this to the last tier of the Kiss End of the Road tour, Kiss being a band that practically invented the ticket pricing / VIP thing:
The average ticket prices for Rush concerts in the USA and Canada in 2025/2026 are slightly higher at the entry level than those for Kiss during their 2023 US tour, especially at the lower end. VIP packages for both bands are expensive, but Rush offers multiple tiers with a broad price range that is comparable to Kiss, with the very top Rush packages sometimes even more expensive.
Average Entry-Level Ticket Prices
Rush 2026:
Tickets often start around $149-$164 in the cheapest sections.
The average lowest price per show is between $150 and $224. In major cities such as New York (Madison Square Garden), this is around $275-$293.
Note: Service fees and facility charges can increase the total.
Kiss 2023:
Tickets on the Farewell Tour in the US sometimes started at $35 to $98 in promotions.
The average price was usually between $160 and $300 for standard tickets.
Front-row tickets went up to $1,000 per piece at large arenas, with average top prices between $997–$1,000 for premium spots.
Band Average Entry Price Top Regular Ticket Price
Rush $149–$224 $275–$293
Kiss $35–$160 $997–$1,000
VIP Packages Compared
Rush VIP 2026:
"Limelight" Front Row VIP: $3,500–$5,000 (front row, merchandise, privileges).
"Closer to the Heart": $800–$1,250 (premium seat, meet & greet, extras).
"Superconductor" VIP: $550–$850 (good seat, merchandise).
"Stick It Out" VIP Fan: $350–$550 (next-best seat, merchandise).
Top-tier (speculated): $4,500–$7,000 for the ultimate experience.
Some packages also include hotel accommodation and extra perks around $1,000.
Kiss VIP 2023:
Front Row Meet & Greet: $3,720 (premium ticket, meet, photo).
Gold Meet & Greet: $3,255.
Silver Meet & Greet: $2,790.
Front Row Ticket Package: $2,325 (no meet & greet).
"End of the Road Ticket Package": $1,163 (premium ticket, merchandise).
Regular VIP package: from $419.
VIP Package Rush 2026 [USD range] Kiss 2023 [USD range]
Top-tier/Front-row $3,500–$7,000 $3,255–$3,720
Premium/Meet & Greet $800–$1,250 $1,163–$2,790
Standard VIP/Fan $350–$850 from $419
In Summary
Rush offers regular tickets that are somewhat more expensive at the entry level than Kiss, but premium spots and VIP experiences are comparably priced.
Rush's VIP packages have a broader range because there are more different tiers; the absolute ultra-VIP experiences can be even more expensive than with Kiss.
For both bands, the front-row experience and meet & greets come with a hefty price tag, rising to several thousand dollars.
This clearly shows that on their comeback tour, Rush has set their prices firmly, comparable to, and sometimes higher than, those of Kiss during their US Farewell Tour. This is true for both regular tickets and the exclusive VIP experiences.
Then I asked:
And if we compare the Rush tickets to similar touring artists that are either currently touring, or have a tour planned in d coming months / year?
Rush concert ticket prices are noticeably higher on average than many comparable classic rock and prog acts currently touring or scheduled for upcoming tours in North America. Here's how Rush tickets compare to Genesis, Iron Maiden, and Foo Fighters in 2025/2026:
Rush vs Genesis, Iron Maiden, Foo Fighters
Artist Entry Ticket Price Average Price VIP/Floor Max Price
Rush $149–$164 $150–$224 $275–$293, premium up to $2,500+
Genesis $77 $172–$260 Front row up to $350+; VIP higher
Iron Maiden $55–$125 (UK/US). $125–$210 Maxi VIP less common, up to ~$250
Foo Fighters $27–$36 low $113–$230 (venue dependent) Prime seats rarely above $250
Rush's regular tickets (lowest) start at $149–$164, while Genesis start at $77, Iron Maiden at $55–$125 (no dynamic pricing), and Foo Fighters sometimes as low as $27–$36, though average seats for those shows can climb above $100.
Rush's mid-tier and high-end regular tickets (good sections or near front) commonly exceed $275–$293, where Genesis and Maiden have typical top regular seats just over $200, with VIP tiers at Rush often going well beyond $2,000 for ultimate packages—much higher than most comparable acts.
Genesis and Foo Fighters rarely approach Rush's top VIP pricing; high-end experiences with Iron Maiden are available, but generally priced below Rush's exclusive "meet & greet" or "front row" packages.
Key Takeaways
Among classic rock/prog acts, Rush's 2025–2026 prices are at the very top for regular tickets and VIP options.
Genesis is more affordable at entry, Iron Maiden focuses on fair pricing and avoids dynamic surge pricing, and Foo Fighters keep many entry prices low, though in-demand major city shows can get expensive.
Only mega-events or unique reunion tours (e.g., Oasis, U2, Taylor Swift) tend to exceed these Rush prices in North America, based on current 2025 listings.
Rush stands out as one of the priciest touring acts for classic/progressive rock fans, especially in major North American arenas
People getting bent out of shape for anyone suggesting it's not Rush...I mean good luck to Geddy and Alex, it's absolutely their prerogative..but for me, it's not Rush. It's Geddy and Alex with a guest drummer and potentially another keyboard player. That's not Rush, to me.
Also - there's NO WAY Geddy's voice will have improved in the 11 years that have passed since R40.
And yes, I will be doing UK shows if they come.

Well, Rush were gouging by 1979, Bingley Hall Tickets were £4.50 (£20 in today's money)
Looking round the internet it seems to me that Americans are quite willing to stump up these prices because "It's Rush innit" and anyone who moans about the pricing gets shouted down.
There's one bloke who keeps saying that ticket prices have to be this high, because it's only a limited run of dates and you have to think of the overheads. Overheads Schmoverheads.
Suppose you play a 15,000 seat Arena with an average ticket price of $200 that rakes in $3m. I'd say that's a good chunk of your overheads covered, bearing in mind that the fees charged on tickets are used to cover the venue's costs. I saw on one forum that someone had bought a disabled ticket for MSG which was back row in the nosebleeds: Ticket cost $168 ticket fees $95. Bonkers.
This isn't a new phenomenon. In the eighties I read a review (probably in Sounds) of a Rush gig. The hack described the band having a look of "we're gonna get our money out of you effers if it's the last thing we do".
I think that's much the same sentiment for most touring bands. It's a slog fest and if someone is prepared to pay you more that they should why would you turn that down. Especially if it's the final? hurrah.
I'm still haunted by my front row far left Rush experience at the NEC, for the Snakes & Arrows tour. Towards the end of the interval Alex returned from the dressing room and stood a few feet from me talking to his tech. He looked utterly miserable. The tech looked as if he was talking him back onstage as he slung the Les Paul around his neck. The stair to the stage itself was more like a ladder and Lerxst hauled himself step by step to the top. He was there for about thirty seconds, concealed from the rest of the audience by cases and a curtain, awaiting his cue.
The moment arrived and he hit his note with total precision, his body jarred into an upright position and this huge painted on smile lit up his face. I was gutted! I admired his total professionalism but recognised in that moment what being a performance artist really means. It's all a sham, and it tainted my feelings about the band forever.
I had the misfortune to win a meet & greet on the same tour. It really was fart in a spacesuit stuff and I found it excruciatingly bad. I've always had the inbuilt instinct to know when I'm not welcome, and that evening I wished I was somewhere, anywhere else. They say don't meet your heroes and that's great advice. My lasting memory of "talking" to Geddy was that he's probably hard of hearing, or he doesn't really get the Glasgow accent.
If I could turn back time would I prefer not to have met them or had that front row seat? Probably! I really am a miserable old sod, but I wanted it to always be magical. It's all fantasy. Except the music which is something of a miraculous, fleeting possibility that this universe flings up on rare occasions. Will I go to a UK concert if it happens? Absolutely yes! Stuff the price!

Ach, so what! I'm the same age now as those knacker's yard guys they used to give a luminous lollipop outside schools. I'm still a lager lout who loves heavy rock music and wears inappropriate clothing for my age, so Geddy singing in tune at £150 a pop doesn't seem such a big deal. A bigger deal for me is losing enough weight to get into the intended Caterham purchase. Remember handing a human being behind a plastic screen a couple of hard earned notes? Bouncing out of the venue, usually the Glasgow Apollo on cloud nine as the queue members looked on jealously. Used to love going to the Sheffield City Hall box office, where they'd get the seating map out and you could pick your own seats :)
Used to get a cheap one up in the balcony, then a couple of my mates who worked would get stalls seats and at the gig one would then come out with the other's ticket so I could get in. Loads of folk did the same and security would keep coming round trying to count people in the rows, so we'd all bob up and down to make it harder :)
Didn't matter for the rowdier gigs as they'd take the front three rows of seats out anyway.
What I did for the first two tours was send an SAE to
City Hall Box Office
Northumberland Rd,
Newcastle upon Tyne
NE1 8SF
With a handwritten note saying "please send me a ticket for Rush on 11th June (or whenever). I enclose a cheque for £2"
For the Tour of the Hemispheres, I took the first train to Newcastle and joined a very long queue for the box office, stretching all the way round Northumberland Road into John Dobson Street. I was there for hours in the snow, surrounded mainly by Geordies. Some of my fellow Rush fans kept themselves amused by lobbing the occasional snowball at a passing car. One motorist naturally took offence at this and stopped his car to get out and confront a snowball thrower. He got about two feet before he had to retreat back into his vehicle under a torrent of snowballs. I can still picture him now, stumbling backwards and shielding his face with his arm with clumps of snow clattering into him.

I'm not embarrassed to admit this made me shed a tear. Probably the result of an unplanned extended weekend involving good wine, or maybe because I'm a sentimental old git. We lived in a better world.

Numb, probably. All I remember is that I was very cold.
This was the third time I'd suffered hours of freezing temperatures for my favourite band. I'd spent two consecutive nights at Newcastle Central Station in February the previous year. My mum wouldn't come and pick me up from the City Hall because the roads were icy.
Nothing particularly interesting in the video but the comments really tell the story.
"Big money got a heavy hand
Big money take control
Big money got a mean streak
Big money got no soul..."
and
"One likes to believe in the freedom of music
But glittering prizes and endless compromises
Shatter the illusion of integrity"
Or if you prefer your fan reactions a bit less rhetorical and poetic:
" Nothing more ugly than greedy rich people crapping on the fans who made them"
I think this may well be an astute observation:
"I'm pretty certain that anyone who chooses to watch the video instead will be quite relieved they didn't go to the concert"
Yes I suspect I'll be passing on this.. if they ever make it to the UK.....just got so many other things to spend my money on.. I'll catch the performances on YouTube
As a fun project I got ChatGPT to go through some sums with me. I asked it to estimate their profit from playing a similar number of dates on the Permanent Waves tour.
It turns out, after adjusting for inflation, and after considering all the costs, that the two of them will be taking home in real terms about 16 times per night what they managed in 1980 - when they were at the peak of their powers and selling out venues. Roughly $480,000 each per gig, it reckons. That's without taking into account merchandise, streaming royalties or anything other than the ticket price.

OK, so just the 16x what they used to earn for a night's work in their heyday, then. Unless they still get a cut from merchandise (and since they sell t shirts, mugs, phone holders, caps, badges, hoodies and fridge stickers on their site, I assume they do).
It's the ticket prices that are causing the controversy so I was really interested to find out what they're making from those, compared to what seemed to be reasonable way back when. Actually at these prices, even adjusting backwards for inflation I wouldn't even have been able to go to a gig when I was 17 or 18, wouldn't have been able to afford it. Might not have bought all those CDs, years later. But at this stage of the game I don't think they're thinking of their efforts as an investment for the future.
Most of the merch is outsourced though. Musictoday II, LLC, does all merch, and they (Geddy and Alex) will get a cut. But they probably have very little say in what is being sold, and at which price. It is more and more a business venture, not just Rush but the music industry as a whole.
The whole idea of them two pullung the strings is no longer valid. Sure, they are going to perform, and they will say: we want X amount. And they have creative control, but the whole business side.. Ray Danniels sold the Anthem company, he is no part of this I am sure.
All of this makes things probably very expensive: there are too many middle men, and they all want a cut. I think Ged and Al get a flat fee a night.
OK that's an interesting point. A promoter could be underwriting the entire tour, and taking all the risk. Given that this was always going to be low risk I think they'll have got a very good deal and I still think they'll be earning at least ten times more per gig than they did in 1980, in real inflation-adjusted terms.
On Facebook:
Rush's Female Drummer DISRESPECTED In Commercial
Living Colour guitarist Vernon Reid recently slammed concert promoters advertising Rush's new tour for failing to acknowledge their new drummer, Anika Niles, in promotional materials. He called out the the promoters' approach in a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter).
Reid's comments highlighted a radio advertisement promoting tickets for a Rush concert that only mentioned founding members Alex Lifeson and Geddy Lee. The ad did not mention Neil Peart's replacement, Niles, who has taken on the significant challenge of filling Peart's role after his passing.
Vernon Reid slams Rush concert promoters
"I heard a radio style add for Rush tix going on sale, that only mentions Alex Lifeson and Geddy Lee. No mention of Anika Niles at all," Reid said.
"I found this disturbing given the sheer enormity of the grace under pressure she has to possess. An 'introducing Anika Niles' would have been cool."
Reid went further to criticize how this approach contradicts the band's legacy.
"It runs counter to what the band has stood for, for years, in not say her name," he continued.
"The fact that Rush is playing at all fairly demands that the drummer in Neil's stead, not be treated as an anonymous cog in a cash-grabbing machine. Their legacy deserves better than that. Neil's does."
Vernon is most always right.
Unfortunately, promotors only see money, and a Legacy is useless to them. It brings in no money.
I read that on Reddit a few days ago and I just don't think that Vernon has a point. When did you ever hear Darryl Jones in a Rolling Stones tour ad? Or any of the band apart from Becker and Fagen on a Steely Dan ad, after about 1977? Or the bloke who played keyboards in Status Quo, etc etc.

Completely different IMHO. This is a musician who is replacing Neil Peart. The importance of that, especially after Geddy and Alex said it would never happen makes he a bit more significant that Andy Bown's contribution to Status Quo.
It's a couple of initial promo photos and I'm sure there'll be more with Anika Nilles included; anyway, maybe she's not fussed about it, maybe she was asked to be in these particular promo shots and politely declined, maybe she sees herself as a hired gun rather than a full-time, integral part of the band, maybe some other innocuous reason.
I get Vernon Reid's passion but I think he's making mountains from molehills here.
Oh well, she at least shares something with Neil. His surname was often mispronounced, hers often misspelled.
Edit: Oh dear! Given the content, a very inappropriate apostrophe now removed.

So it's exactly the same as Steve Jordan's importance to the Rolling Stones. She's a backing musician, part of a touring band. Did she appear in the ads when she toured with Jeff Beck?

Neil's contribution to his band was far greater than that of most drummers to their own bands so his replacement is far more significant. I think Geddy and Alex were acknowledging that when they said they would not tour again as Rush.
Jeff Beck was a solo artist and was billed as such - it's a different scenario altogether.

But she hasn't "replaced" him except that she'll be playing the drums on tour. Charlie Watts was and is more of a legend in popular music and culture than Neil was or is. Rush is Alex Lifeson and Geddy Lee. The tour is explicitly billed as a Rush tour. It's the same scenario.

OK
I agree it would have been nice to have a 'feat. Anika Nilles' on the poster, but what I said before, ultimately it's not what sells the tickets.
It feels as if the perception is that she is replacing Neil as a member of the band, but she is replacing him as the drummer which is quite different.
I highly doubt there will be a photo session with her pictured as bandmember. She is a hired gun.
I don't believe going to a show I'd buy a shirt with the Rush logo, and a shot of her, or a bandshot with her included.
A new raft of North American dates added.
Not sure if this is cause for optimism or pessimism for a transatlantic visit...
Going to be 2027 if they ever get to our shores I think ..
Seeing how quick those first shows sold out they might have underpriced the tickets..

Might make them feel a bit more altruistic about it if they make such a bundle in the US. I'm sure they could make it break even over here at least. I have my doubts however, now that they've got used to marketing everything that's not nailed down.
Watching that new dates announcement video from Geddy and Alex, was Geddy's voice slightly shaky on occasion or is it my imagination? I wouldn't imagine he'd ever be nervous in front of a camera.
It just depends how much more money they think they need / how big a payday they'd get from whoever underwrites the tour (if that's how it's structured, as I think is likely).
You would be a bit annoyed if you bought tickets/transport and hotel for one of the original dates only to find they are now playing in your city.

I now feel strongly that if they stay healthy, Europe's a certainty.
That's probably about $25 million each already. I look at it differently - there must be a maximum amount of shows they feel they can (or want, or need) to do and if they do that without crossing the Atlantic, they will.

Well, this is a true test of integrity for them then. They made a lot of noise about being SO disappointed about letting us down last time.
adding all those 2nd dates are the money makers. Venues were reserved in advance with an early cancellation fee option for those 2nd or 3rd bookings. That is how production costs are kept low and they increase profit margin.
I highly doubt they have such pull in Europe.
When I saw that their final date is 17th December it made me think, a month off for Christmas, a couple of warm-up gigs somewhere in continental Europe, then half a dozen between Germany, the Netherlands and maybe Italy, culminating in London x 3, Birmingham x 2, Manchester x 2, Glasgow x 2. Maybe even Dublin and Belfast. I think these would sell, but they might have to scale back the ticket costs. Who knows?
I think alas it might all be down to Old Father Time in the end. Geddy's vocal cords might explode along with a couple of Alex's tendons. Worse still, complete and irreversible wig glue failure.
I suppose a Minimoog would look ok atop a zimmer.

Quote from: Slim on October 24, 2025, 01:06:38 AMAlex is the heart and soul of Rush for me, there's no replacing that even if Neil was still alive. Geddy - possible, but still a stretch.
No, no, no! Geddy really is Rush. Neil sparked his melodic approach to writing with his magnificent lyrics, but Hemispheres without Geddy's voice, unthinkable. Alex is a great guitarist, but Geddy is a unique performer.
An incredible, unmistakable vocal style, a master of creative bass lead lines and who is also able to expand the sound of a trio to something orchestral using keyboards, pedals and triggers.
His book also reveals just how driven he was in the studio, never settling for anything substandard but rather, pushing, pushing, pushing. He also built a lot of Alex's famous solos, cobbling them together from bits and pieces into something magnificent. Buy hey, just my opinion.
Well - he does have an unmistakable vocal style, but not in a good way. He does play bass very well. I think Alex wrote the sharpest material and his approach to guitar - so articulate and chordy - is really what makes Rush Rush.
That juggling Geddy did with Taurus pedals and keyboards never amounted to anything of great musical merit. He's not a good keyboard player. An impressive skill at best. Doesn't make any of the records sound any better.
He manifestly, obviously, did settle for substandard dross in the studio and although he may have been dominant and overbearing there I'm yet to be convinced that it was a good thing.
I found Victor very telling - creatively performatively and certainly in production terms, on a completely different level from My Favourite Headache. The unpalatable truth is that Geddy's domineering probably held back the band as much as his voice.
Peart, Lifeson, Deacon, (Hagar, Coverdale, Dio, Dickinson, Plant, Bonnet, Gillan, Daltrey - take your pick!)
Oh, and a Lord, Emerson, Wakeman or Airey would come in useful.
Nah! No thanks.
Lee, Lifeson and Peart for me.

I don't know. It's hard to think of them performing at that age, honestly. Both of them were 23 the first time I saw them, feels like that was in an alternate universe now.

I concur. I began the dreaded task of a massive de-clutter today. I immediately found letters from relatives who had visited from abroad in the early eighties. I could only very vaguely remember a tiny shred about it. It made me think that very same thing. Fifty years almost wipes the hard drive of everything other than snapshots of the very important. I got that impression from My Effin' Life a lot, that between Geddy and Alex they barely managed to knit together a few scenes of their early lives. Thank goodness for muscle memory.
So, just happened to notice this next September in Montreal:
Weds 2nd - Rush

Fri 4th - Rush

All 3 of them were the heart and soul of Rush. I've said it before...I was second off the rail at the Wembley Taylor Hawkins gig...a really enjoyable set with 2 brilliant and very different drummers...and it was still a little jarring and not as good without Neil. You need all 3 of them on the stage.

I figured, just as AI what the expectations might be:
based on the 2026 US tour prices, the USD vs EUR exchange rate and past relationship between the aforementioned, can you predict ticket prices for EU (Amsterdam) and UK shows?
Based on 2026 US tour data showing ticket prices starting between $292 and $398 for high-demand shows, Rush (if touring) EU/UK tickets will likely start around €150-€200 (approx. $160-$215) for Amsterdam and £130-£170 for the UK, assuming a 1:1.08 EUR/USD rate and standard European pricing, with premium seats exceeding €500+
.
Predicted Pricing Breakdown (2026 Estimates)
EU (Amsterdam - Ziggo Dome/Arena): Base tickets are expected to start in the €150–€250 range, considering VAT and lower base pricing relative to USD, with premium seating often exceeding €400-€500 for high-demand legacy acts.
UK (London - O2 Arena): Due to high venue costs and high demand, expect entry-level tickets to be roughly £130–£200, with top-tier seats in the £350–£600+ range.
Exchange Rate Factors: The 2026 USD/EUR exchange rate remains relatively strong, meaning USD-based ticket demand directly inflates European prices, often keeping nominal prices high even after conversion.
These estimates assume a similar, extremely high-demand, limited-engagement model seen in the 2026 US "Fifty Something Tour" announcements.
We'll see. I am not paying 150 EUR for a nosebleed.
I'll probably stay local and only do the Manc gig. Arena though - eww, needs must I suppose. My son and his wife will want to go too - Big Money ;D
Think I will do 1 date In London, don't need to see them multiple times again.
I hope this doesn't end up feeling like I'm being charged by a family member for a lift to the shops.
How could I have realised as I stood watching them as a young man, barely shaving, that I might see them (well, two of them) again, 53 weeks into my state pension days.
God willing!
As a sixteen year old, standing there in Newcastle City Hall watching them tear through Best I Can, would I have been horrified to think that they, or two of them, would be touring fifty years later? Yes. And that's before you consider that they're going to charge about eight or nine times more in real terms for the ticket.

They used to say there would be no Rush without Neil. If he had lived to enjoy his well deserved retirement, would the two of them have done this?

It is going to be expensive. Will try for London but it might be cheaper to head to Europe.
There is a big gap after the UK dates, maybe extra dates will be announced after these have sold out.
I've just had a look at the US dates...aside from obvious markets like NY and Toronto...there is a laughable amount of tickets available and the prices are all still sky high - there is going to be an awful lot of papering over the cracks and 2 for 1's on that leg of the tour.
I read that they have an extra date pencilled in for Glasgow and Manchester and I'll be stunned if they're needed - we know the ticket prices start at £77 and end at £2300. Geddy better be taking some fucking singing lessons...
Also, I don't care what anyone says, its not Rush without Neil.

So: I joined the queue for the Manchester presale. I waited about three minutes. I got in (the presale code is R50, by the way). Decent tickets still available. A few in the 12th row.

Agreed! Picked a couple of decent options but £300 plus is disgraceful. In any case, these selections seemed to be immediately withdrawn as they were 'stranded' seats. I'm guessing that means they only sell pairs and don't cater for losers like me. As you said, James, hope it's a good one for those going but it's YouTube for me.

Glad you posted this. Thank you. I'm angry at this blatant rip-off. Their target market is basically pensioners. I'll always love the music but they can keep their tickets, and mustard, and beer, and anniversary albums, etc.
And how much are fees on top of ticket prices?
I wasn't going to go through the motions of actually buying one.
Ballsed up and wouldn't let me get 3 tix. Dropped out, may try on Thursday but not really too fussed. Some of the prices are mental.
Annoying thing is, I'm at a stage in life where I actually have disposable income to do frivolous things with, but I reckon that's the cynical marketing mechanism that's behind this, and I'm not falling for it. Kind of contradicts my previous pensioner comment, but I'm still in a low-grade anger mood at the moment. Seems really petty to say but it feels like a form of betrayal.

They're making it look like Manchester is selling out rapidly and row 9 tickets are now at £590, side tier at £372. Hoorah for dynamic pricing!
Makes the £250 I spent on David Gilmour tickets at the Royal Albert Hall look a bargain.
Single seat Glasgow, row 9 £476.88 or Fender Standard Telecaster £499
Hmmm, let me think.
Pair of chancers!
Oh my, worst than I thought then. Dynamic ticketing is part of this as well, chances are that if you look a bit later prices have dropped. This method responds to demand.
I won't pay those prices. I'm going to wait as you never know dynamic prices may kick in and push prices down - yeah right!
Really though, I've never been one to get in early, so if I don't get tickets at a decent price, so be it - I'll buy the blu ray*.

I'm looking forward to forgetting about today and my melodramatic state of mind. I realise I could have bought a ticket and 54 weeks later that money might not seem very significant under the spotlights.
However, and however stupid this may seem, I've lost a bit of respect for the guys. I'm aware they're a corporate entity these days and just doing what Kiss, Oasis et al are doing and setting their great grandchildren up for life, but to me they were that grafting band, constantly touring and playing their hearts out to that loyal band of followers. That band of followers has now been swallowed up into that worldwide fairground that is modern live entertainment and us oldies are insignificant.
Strangely, after a couple of hours I'm not so bothered anymore. That's kind of sad but I'll chalk it up to wisdom. I don't display it very often but it's one of the rare benefits of getting older I suppose.

Unbelievable!
See post below!
If you remember Lucy Elwell from TNMS she's doing both London shows and Milan - having already got a ticket for Washington. Bonkers.
Helsinki for £149, a good seat on Geddy's side. That'll do. For now, at least.
Nearly became a hypocrite. Oslo has seats 15 rows back on Geddy's side for £128

More money than sense.
I got front row at Sheffield on their last two visits for regular price. The world is now more bonkers than me - and that says an awful lot.
Received a pre sale link, let's have a peak tomorrow morning.
Won't pay 2500, in fact not even 250.

So, £300 for the seat and £1000 each for Geddy and Alex for a handshake and smile for the camera. I won a meet & greet for the S&A tour. Dreadful experience. Herded into an area military style by their security and a series of orders barked at us making it clear our presence was only just tolerated by the artists. 10 - 15 seconds standing beside Geddy and Alex and then beat it. I found it all a bit demeaning.

I'll wave from the floor. ;)
I don't want to be a Debbie downer...but I've just watched Spirit of Radio from the 2015 official release and, Christ almighty, the vocals are terrible. I had to turn it off as I was scared the wife would walk into the room. I really really hope Geddy gets some vocal coaching before the tour starts.
I remember hearing the live version of Subdivisions from their last tour. Was loving the intro and then the vocal kicked in.
Painful to listen to. It kinda felt like he was in pain
Wouldn't be surprised at all if he's lip syncing.
Quote from: Slim on February 24, 2026, 11:12:25 PMWouldn't be surprised at all if he's lip syncing.
There will be technical aids, yes. No doubt. It'll be similar to Kiss laat time I saw them. Roger Waters has been doing it for ages.
Maybe they can draft in a vocalist .. wonder if they'll keep up the pretence of Lifeson doing some "backup" vocals
You start getting back vocalists and it moves further and further away from what we've all become used to. I'm still looking forward to Helsinki and still hoping to do Manchester...but I think they'll be enough for me...sometimes that initial rush of excitement can make you get carried away...
When Bonham died LZ called it a day apart from the gig in the early 2000s. Lee/Lifeson should have the common sense to do the same ...
I can see three black chicks at the back behind Geddy: "Zanadooooooo".
Keyboards, backing vocals, they'll be using a bloody string section next!
The keyboard player they hired will do backing vocals / support Geddy, Dom already mentioned it. It'll happen.
In all fairness, we have gotten used to a lot over the years, so I suppose it is a matter of building on that. They can do what they want - doesn't mean we have to like it.
in the que now, 915 waiting and this:
Tickets for this presale have been priced by the Event Organiser from €89.60 to €2600 (including fees). Tickets are subject to availability.
If that means a decent ticket will <150 I am out
180 EUR balcony seats, no fkn way.
Cheapest seats: 90 EUR, 2nd tier.
first 'ring' of seats: 180 but the first 3 parts on either sides are taken bybVIP packages for 325 (back) or 550 (front row). I sat in one of those exact seats for Porcupine Tree during the CC tour (where they filmed the shows), first row, 90 EUR.
I am so disappointed. That 180 I will spend elsewhere. Once I am back on my feet I can surely fin 4-5 shows to spend this on.
As I thought, I'm over the histrionics of my rants from yesterday. It's just this spoilt generation market taking us who knows where. What I'm not over though is the withdrawal of available seats for those who only need one. A ticket instantly going from £300 to more than £450 is just spiteful in the extreme, and I still wouldn't have paid £300.
All I can salvage from this is the hope of a fairer priced, not so good seat somewhere along the line. A year is a long time after all.
As above, I didn't buy any tickets yesterday due to the insane prices....can afford it but not willing to pay those prices for being nowhere near the front !!
Will wait until nearer the time when unsold tickets no doubt get released.
Plan now is to go and do a few European shows instead, now way will all the German shows sell out.
Was in Koln and Berlin for the Clockwork Angels shows and they were only 2/3rds full at best !!
Had another quick look on the Glasgow presale. Reasonable seats at just under £215 readily available, but again blocking single ticket purchase. I realise why they do that but it's maddening.
Just had a look to see if the Co-op Arena tickets are any cheaper now..
Very odd ticket rollout. Bought 3 seats for my Brother for the second night at the 02 last night at around 7pm. Block 101, close to Alex's side row L, which is relatively low down not too far off the floor. Excellent seats. £199 each. Bizarre for that to feel like a bargain when identical seats on Geddy's side were priced between 3-400 and seats in the next row down and up were priced between 210 and 350. Odd.
I don't think the venues are anywhere close to being sold out, no matter what the seating charts are showing. I think it's just promoters doing their FOMO thing to entice people pay top whack.
Still planning on doing Manchester but haven't got a ticket yet.
No ticket here yet, will have a look again at London tomorrow on general sale.

Yep, I have to grudgingly agree. If I was talented and healthy enough, with grandchildren, I'd probably do the same. Besides, Ray probably holds the negatives for all the 70s and 80s tour shenanigans. 😁
Tried again today for side seats in London and got them for the undynamic price. Still not really sure why I am going but it's done and hopefully enjoyable.

I think I'm going to have to go to one of them unless they all sell out. I'll leave it and see if the ticket prices come down.
8th row centre tickets bought for the second night for the 'bargain' price of £185 each with rip off fees..
I could see the seats shaded out and when they did eventually appear at that price it took about 5-6 goes before it would allow me to buy them...checked immediately after my purchase had gone through and they'd more than doubled in price.
This industry really needs a massive overhaul and major regulation.
I caved and bought a ticket for the second night at Manchester. Less than £200 and on the floor, not a bad ticket. But even so I feel disgusted. Partly with myself, I admit.
A good single seat became available. Who knows why, but £495.05. The 5p bit actually made me chuckle. Maybe that's the keyboard player's cut.😂
I didn't bite. More wouldn't than didn't. I just couldn't live with myself.
PW, MP and Signals were seismic moments in my musical, social life and growing up generally. I think I'll probably quite enjoy this concert if and when I get to witness it. Doubtless it will have an emotional value but just nothing approaching the importance I associate with those albums in my life.
They were of a time, just like Rush. The real Rush. To mis-quote someone,

OK, so my wife actually prompted me to buy a ticket. Not that she is going, but she made a good point:
I have not been out in nearly a year, and this is still a year away. Currently having a bit of a relapse (my right foot is acting up of being sick of doing the heavy lifting) I have been McGrumpers around the house.

You did well. I was over £300 for row 8 centre block in Glasgow and thought that was relatively acceptable in this crazy age we're now experiencing.
Is it madness to consider the no spoilers position for this tour?

I did all 6 of the UK shows on the R30 shows and my heart sank at the Wembley shows which were the first 2 - it was so ridiculously loud, I dreaded the thought of putting myself through that for the following week..thankfully the sound did get better as each successive show..but only Glasgow and Brum 2 had acceptable sound, I'd say.

Yes, the Glasgow show was great but nothing will beat that thrill of seeing them after such a long break. Not even the gorgeous girl in the glittering catsuit asking if she could squeeze in beside me as I had a better seat. Only to realise after my instant agreement that she had a boyfriend who also pushed in.
I didn't wear proper earplugs back then and only the Dr Pro drummer type later on, but from now on it's the Alpine range. They're great, comfortable and the sound is just the same as everyone else's is hearing, only quieter and clearer and much more enjoyable as the stress is taken away.

That keyboardist got an easy wage! Otherwise agreed was very welcome to watch.
for those who want to see
Yeah! Oh .. no
By the way Lerxst is playing a 'Greeny' Les Paul. Saw Gary Moore playing the real one once.
Noticed the keyboard player was present but I didn't hear the keys, interestingly. Would have sounded a bit superfluous on that tune. Alex sounds fine, that's good anyway.
I have to admit, that was pretty good. Great drumming - those around the kit tom fills are pure Neil. Not sure what that keyboard player was doing there though (looks like Toto ;D )
Geddy voice was OK too (brave song choice!)
I enjoyed that, all rather good - even Ged's voice wasn't too bad.
This fanboi is very pleased with that.
As I hoped and anticipated, Anika looks (and sounds) the perfect choice for that drum stool; she's obviously formidably talented but crucially she's also channelling the required "Neil-isms", except she actually smiles while she plays - and I'm sure she can be forgiven for that. :)
That was good! Not a great choice of song for the keyboard player to prove his worth but I suppose he proved how good he is at standing idly by!
Lerxst certainly got the chops..Geddy less of the screeching oh yeahs maybe..
Drummer spot on.. still not shelling out£100sto see them
Just keep it going guys (and gal). I can live with that. Geddy seemed to be doing more body posturing to deliver certain vocal notes. Maybe part of the voice training he talked about, helping the diaphragm along. It'll be a careful song choice I suppose probably focussing on the lower register stuff as a few like last night could get a bit strangulating.
Please use the No 1 Jazz Bass though. Aesthetically more pleasing and familiar to me as his guitar. I didn't like the constant switching on R40 either so I hope he's done with that.
I see that the author of the Cygnus-X1.Net Facebook group is pulling the plug on the page due to a constant stream of vitriol since the band's Juno performance. Trolling is just disgusting.
I've watched a few of this chap's videos.
Don't know this chap but he makes some points, he does drop the ball like many others do:
Mike Portnoy does NOT speak the Rush language. He is a spast behind the drums and would have completely, totally and utterly f*cked up the bands feel. The other 2 'virtuoso's' might be better players than Portnoy, but no one has 'the feel'.
Other than that: why can't he stop waving his hands back and forth toward the camera, very annoying.
OK, so I had a bit of a chuckle over this quote from a recent interview:
"When the band ended, we said it's only RUSH with Neil in it," he continued. "Which, of course, is true. RUSH as most people know it. But, you know, over five gigs we will be playing forty RUSH songs. So what the fuck should we call it, IRON MAIDEN?"
I'm not sure how I feel about the bass Rickenbacker has designed for Geddy for the tour. Maybe it'll grow on me.
Looks like a 1970s album cover

^ Or even an album cover with 70 year olds.
Ah so, Lorne Wheaton (Gump), Neil's old drumtech has come out of retirement to tour with Annika and Rush. Lovely!

Promo budget slashed to a tenner then...

I heard the other two agreed not to have starters or dessert.
Photo comes from a New York Times interview, not sure whether you can read it though:

Quite obviously a hierachically composed shot - know your place, guys.
I had assumed this was AI when I saw it on FB. I didn't bother looking for any anomalies. Surprised it's genuine.
Geddy and Anika can share the same wardrobe on tour.
Alex looks as if it's the 126th take.
Just realised the first gig is almost upon us on June 7th, that went quick.

You are right, I feel a spoiler topic incoming, a tell-all setliet thing.
Which ones you think we won't guess?
Oh wait...
I keep looking at a trip to Vancouver for the last two shows of this year's tour. It's around the time of my birthday, which makes it alright then... ::)
Fans that bought the 'Limelight VIP package' are not happy!
Apparently these tickets were around $3000 and included the opportunity to have one item signed by Geddy and Alex in a meet and greet. It has been announced that, "due to logistical issues" this will no longer be the case but 'Limelight' fans will receive a poster already signed by Geddy and Alex instead.
From Facebook:

20. Spend don't tell
21. Where's my money?
All of which could have been avoided if you just play another track:
The Pass
It's going to be pretty much impossible to avoid set list spoilers given the way my social media algorithms are calibrated.
Obviously I expect the likes of SOR and Tom Sawyer to be played every night, but I'll be annoyed if there's more "revelatory" additions plastered all over FB etc without warning.

Tonight is the first night of the rest of Rush' future. Unreal, never could have imagined.
Just playing some Rush music to get in the mood. I wonder if Anika could sing the female Time stand still lead? Might be an interesting touch.

I was beginning to get a bit stressed about the same thing, but with the gig being the best part of a year away for me, I think I'll just accept I'm going to know this setlist inside out by the time they roll into Glasgow.
For R30, I hadn't seen them for so long I was completely obsessional. I didn't listen to a single Rush song for 6 months beforehand. I was in a total state of nerves that day at Wembley, just walking to and fro between the hotel and the arena trying to kill those afternoon hours in glorious sunshine. There was some relief when the merch stands opened outside, then back to the hotel to get changed.
Got in, great seat and thought I was dreaming when a gorgeous young woman in a sparkly catsuit asked if she could squeeze in beside me for a better view. I eagerly accepted her proposal at which point she ushered her boyfriend into the ever decreasing space as well.🙁
Concert was still brilliant, although I was slightly confused as to the goings on during the opening medley. It felt like Geddy was never going to sing.
I'll probably go straight to YouTube tomorrow morning. Changed days!
Agreed, I will be straight on YouTube tomorrow as well.
I won't live as a musical monk until February of next year. Maiden did it right a few years back where they premiered every song they did on social media the moment is started, as of it was a live report.
Don't want to know? Stay off social media.
We of course, will give a distant early warning with perhaps a spoiler topic.
Just figured out that they when they start at 19:30 and do 2,5 hours (3 with break?) they will still be playing when I get up out of bed tomorrow morning :)
I'm still contemplating whether to go or not. And where - either Manchester or Glasgow? My son will come with me to which ever one I decide on. Maybe the set list will persuade me one way or another.
I'll save myself a ton of money and watch it on YouTube.. good luck to them,,
I paid stupid money for the second night in Glasgow. Great seat but buying it was more like an act of closure than excitement.
I still think a lot of tickets were bought with a mind to exploit folk somewhere down the line. I think many of those attempting this are in for a shock and I expect to pick up a fairly cheap ticket for the first night as the date approaches. Maybe even on the day.

There does look like a lot of available tickets for night2 at Glasgow.

And the 2nd night at Manchester. I did spot an 'in the Gods' ticket at less than £100 recently, but I'm still waiting for the prices to drop. I just can't see them selling out at these inflated prices.
I remember my 2nd Clockwork Angels gig at Sheffield, they did tickets at half price - I think I paid £36 for it, or something like that. In fact, that was the last time I saw them. Cracking gig too.
Just bought a couple of decent VIP seats at Manchester. My pound of flesh is in the post directly to Canada.

I suspect that after experiencing that first gig via social media, there will be a lot of people abandoning their principles! Looks like they knocked it out of the park. Although the one element that may get worse as the tour progresses is Geddy's voice. I hope it holds up for all those punters with tickets for shows at the other end of the schedule.
Still persisting with the notion that they are funny though. That excruciating intro video just pads out the showtime IMHO. Obviously Geddy's brother needs to put food on the table but what's wrong with:
"Please welcome.....RUSH!"?
Bah, Humbug!
Agreed the vids have always been a total pain....and for the most part not very funny
I allowed myself a viewing of footage of (and I know this will sound ridiculous to those here to put it like this) a certain song with certain iconic drum fills; Anika played them and everything else with a beautiful, graceful, emphatic and respectful perfection, to roars of approval from the crowd...must admit I welled up a bit.
Alex playing a gold 355 called "Zlata" - see the truss rod cover. ChatGPT tells me that Zlata is a Slavic female given name meaning "of gold". Bit of a nod to his heritage.
